Banksy Street Cred?, by thesewalls on Jul 17, 2008 11:29:50 GMT 1, well said onemandown72, well said. and besides, aren't the streets about equality? common grounds? community? like Banksy said, we need more streakers in this crazy race that we run called life. he is only doing what he feels to be his part in society, and wow what a contributer. the rest sold itself cause it's pure quality. street art evolution at its best.

DFace • Death and Glory Show Poster Print, by thesewalls on Jul 17, 2008 11:05:56 GMT 1, it's both richy00!! there's the hardcore D art fans "everyone", and there's the random ebay jonny joe "everyone." there's the flippers, the upgraders, the poppers and the breakers. gallery gale and online larry. the markets doing funny things right now...it's slow for a lot of people, and is a bad time to sell in general. many factors contribute to the current state of affairs, it's not just how awesome (or not) D* is. and while i do think he's slipped a bit, i look forward to what's in store, and remain positive that he'll be back in full effect. haha, won't hold my breath though!

What FAILE animal are YOU???, by thesewalls on Jul 17, 2008 10:21:51 GMT 1, Any great artist has a way of bringing their work to life. These range from deep, intellectual creations (EX: BANKSY, DALI), to powerful physical manifestations (EX: PICASSO & BAST sculptures). On the two-dimensional playing field, which proves to be the stomping ground of choice, artists have to add the third themselves. Some people do this by writing books and music and sh*t, but we're talking about the mother-f*ckers that put down some bad ass sh*t on the surface for us to go swimming in eye candy. Blowing out a piece of their brains on the canvas....composing themselves and their surroundings. An interactive experience for anyone wiling - an amazing ride for people that feel it. These cats suck you in and rip you to shreds, than spit you back out a better person. They're animals! Which one are you mother-fucker?!?!?!
The Bunny Boy/Girl The Scuba Horse The Butterfly Girl The Dog The Sinful Pleasures Snake The Forbidden Love Wolf The My Confessions Cub The Happens Everyday T-Rex The Godly Ganesha Elephant The Get Acquainted Bird The 10 Ways Tiger The Mermaid The Tate Tonto's Horse (add a 'd' to the end of their name for that one) The Faile Girl (she f*cks like an animal)
the sex, politics, and old timey comic book story telling don't hurt either, but in the end, imagery is king and aesthetics is queen. or something. i love you guys. did i forget any? surely...

Faile Gagosian Gallery Question, by thesewalls on Jul 17, 2008 8:44:48 GMT 1, oh lordy lord Dave, onemandown72, and of course, reznyce, get a f*cking grip. it's called being professional (the response from the gallery), and rhetoric (a big part of how people communicate). motor that was a very nice way of putting it, i commend you. bring on the October show is right! may have to take a trip out there, it's been a while.
snausages you're a funny cat daddy keep up the good work.

MY SHIT DEALING WITH "thetruth55" , by thesewalls on Jul 17, 2008 6:53:07 GMT 1, billysport - maybe when he got your paypal info he saw you lived near him and may be able to do something once you received the damaged print? i don't buy that book falling story for a second, but i don't have any idea what really happened, in any of these cases, so i'll shut up.
Dank One - i think you're spot on with: "It's almost as if this people need to know that they can buy these pieces without actually affording them." Like those as*holes who bid on ebay items with no intention of buying, just to get the rush associated with such a surreal experience...oh my, thank god someone outbid me, that was a close one. talk about living on the edge. go play outside and step away from the computer!
in the end it may be as simple as people letting their excitement get the best of them...
Forum Etiquette, Rule #1 - COMPOSE YOURSELF. jokes jokes, what fun is that!?!?

Faile Print For Sale@ Cost, by thesewalls on Jul 17, 2008 6:13:50 GMT 1, why is everyone selling this print at cost? Is it crap in the flesh?
supply/demand - way too many of these are for sale, and anyone who badly wanted one already has one. therefor, no one in their right mind would ever pay more than cost. a cool 400 would cause a quick sale...kind of crazy thinking about taking a L on a Faile. If you like the image on the screen you'll love it in the flesh! Get yourself a classic for cheap cheap cheap (relatively speaking of course). key bumps *snort snort*

A few words from Banksy, by thesewalls on Jul 17, 2008 3:28:46 GMT 1, nice compilation, many thanks for posting. meatbag i can't tell what you strive to convey by "however it reads like a book of quotes." it's exactly that, no? perhaps i'm missing your sarcasm and tone of voice.
pass the rizla indeed! personally i'm going to take a hit from the bong, and think long and hard about how to put "what we need in this race is a lot more streakers" into action.

DFace • Fuck Lichtenstein Poster, by thesewalls on Jul 14, 2008 21:06:25 GMT 1, tool is right. he's answering questions he had with himself, in his head. well said pimp and wizbong, however there will always be problems and solutions in jboys world, for he constantly needs to feel validated and boost his self esteem with his mindless drivel.
and snausages, to pose a possible answer to your question: people set their own horizons and are comfortable in their worlds. or perhaps you were just being rhetorical. nonetheless i would prefer this poster, signed or not. i don't care that D* did it, i just really like the imagery, and i have Mcattee and Lichtenstein's 'WHAAM' so this would complete the trio...in my world.

Big Faile Purchase, by thesewalls on Jul 10, 2008 0:25:12 GMT 1, Confessions is such a great piece. I genuinely think in time it will be considered one of Faile's classics. For those talking about the increasing cost of Failes you can still pick these up near cost.
i don't know about all that winter, but i love your optimism. i thoroughly enjoy the image, though to be in contention with the 'classics' takes more than aesthetic strength (not at all trying to put words in your mouth). we'll see how much they use it in the future...releases, shows, and on the streets. like you said, only time will tell. respect.

Big Faile Purchase, by thesewalls on Jul 9, 2008 8:58:33 GMT 1, "what color is the sky in your world" - top notch indeed dank one. i used to go by 'the headiest', but it looks like lee's got us both beat! well, with art at least...
congrats on the purchase dood, she's a beaut! here she is in the street around the corner from their studio
and a few more blocks away
and cause it's nice
as long as they keep putting up sick sh*t in the streets, i won't argue with their prices. it sucks that everyone and their mom who wants a Faile can't have one, but i feel like they are reasonably priced...expensive yes, and one of the finer things in this life, surely. lets not forget that art is a luxury...like jewelry...you could get your girl that bling bling, or you could go cubicZ style. or get that b*tch some nice but cheap earrings at that random craft fair in the city. sh*t i have ghetto ass black and white computer print outs of Faile Girl II and Happens Everyday on my wall. The prints would be nice, but that ain't happening. so then i went and got the Faile Girl tatted on my leg. i guess all i'm saying is that you can cover your walls (or body) with almost any budget. and yes, i'm starting a Faile Poster Company tomorrow morning, with full rights from the P's.......i kid, i kid.

FS Choe Sofa King, Driving Home, City Girl, by thesewalls on Jul 8, 2008 16:07:50 GMT 1, it's hard to put a value on 76 as they come up for sale so rarely. plus there are vast differences between prints, with some completely hand painted, and some just touched up a bit. i personally disagree with you rOb and think the opposite. although when i was first introduced to Choe i enjoyed 150 much more. after about 6 months 76 took the cake - especially the fully worked prints, which are absolutely stunning. 150 surely grabs your attention at first, but it failed to keep mine for a long time, which is what apparently happened with a lot of collectors, as they are readily available, framed or not. you'll come around my man as for the value of the 76, i'd say between $2000 - $3500 depending on the print, the buyer and the seller.
pimp LAZ has the original City Girl 76 available? i thought he only had the London Girl print for sale?
