Guardian article on POW Scandal, by closeencounters on Sept 25, 2007 20:56:59 GMT 1, what a day it's been!? having read carefully through this thread i can't believe some of the things that have been unearthed, this is pretty serious to say the least and could have massive repurcussions, will be interesting to see how this pans out that's for sure!
wonder if POW will be looking for some new, trust-worthy and responsible, staff to fill the vacancies?

t minus 30 mins and counting..., by closeencounters on Aug 28, 2007 16:23:58 GMT 1, C-R-A-Z-Y but bound to happen, especially what with all the reminders etc.... was hoping some of the lurkers would be left out of the loop but threads like this one are a big neon sign saying, 'HEY EVERYONE, CHECK THIS OUT!!' it's a shame but if 400,000 people hit it last week, it would have taken a hell of a lot of peddling to keep up!!
cue the release of FAILE chocolate bars into the world, golden tickets = FAILE prints!!

Most Liked Banksy Print Poll, by closeencounters on Dec 6, 2007 17:56:02 GMT 1, Crikey that's a tough poll for sure, had to go for Love Rat purely for the simple beauty and transfer of street piece to printed 'poster' - Banksy at his best and most iconic IMO on the other hand, and possibly the other side to the Banksy coin, Applause and Flag stand out for their combination of detail, juxtaposition and message that always captures my attention and makes me envious of every lucky owner!

New faile 15th Aug, by closeencounters on Aug 2, 2007 20:36:49 GMT 1, i'm confused just got my first FAILE today - a superb Strange Encounters - and would really like to be front of the queue for the next release... but get the impression this thread is full of cloak and dagger to throw people off the scent?!
isn't it enough that every morning i wake up afraid that sleeping has robbed me of another chance to thwart the evil ebayers who seem to be one step ahead of those who want to give a proper home to beautiful pieces of art!
if anyone can divulge any real information i will be eternally grateful ;D

Sweet dreams are made of this...., by closeencounters on Jul 18, 2007 16:58:51 GMT 1, During a quick scan of the news headlines came across this story that i thought i'd share with everyone and get you thinking about which pieces would be top of your list should a small fortune fall through your letterbox!
Boy gets ยฃ44,000 in eBay parcel
Police are trying to trace the owner of 65,400 euros (ยฃ44,000) mistakenly sent to a 16-year-old boy who bought a Playstation Two for ยฃ95 on eBay.
The cash arrived in a box at the house in Aylsham, Norfolk, with the games console, but minus two games. Police are holding the money under the Proceeds of Crime Act while the matter is investigated.
An eBay spokesman said the parcel's contents were "somewhat unusual" and it would help police with their inquiries.
The boy's parents, who are not commenting, alerted police when the parcel arrived on 20 March.
Family claim Magistrates have given Norfolk Police until September to hold on to the money before the case comes up in court again.
But, if the money remains unclaimed the family could potentially apply for it to be returned to them under the Police Property Act. A police spokesman said: "We have until 22 September before we have to go back to court to apply for a further order if necessary."
A spokesman for eBay said: "We know that eBay is a great place to pick up a bargain, although in this case, we agree that the contents of the parcel were somewhat unusual and we will assist with any inquiries the police may wish to make."
(From the BBC News - first time of quoting something on here so hopefully done it right!)
Admittedly you'd be a little upset about the 2 missing games, but i'd be immediately contacting as many galleries etc as poss to establish a good haul of Banksy's back catalogue that's for sure! ;D ;D ;D

Import tax on Dolk, by closeencounters on Sept 7, 2007 20:09:36 GMT 1, Got my GWT today - complete with extra customs charge, a couple of nasty dints in the back and a few scratches on the girl's body too, there was no tissue paper which could account for the scratches but the dints must have happened before it was packaged as the tube was unmarked?! it's a really stunning image and lovely print, just a shame the way it's reached me that's all.
i think the fact that the full invoice details and value of the contents could have something to do with the customs charge, maybe - not too sure on this but surely it would have been better to hide this information too, no?
does anyone know what the score is with refunds/ replacements?
