Banksy Tree Mural โข North London, by nobokov on Mar 19, 2024 18:25:26 GMT 1,
Regrettably, I have to let go of this new Banksy acquisition. After getting it home, my wife and I realized that it doesn't really go with our couch but looks amazing in the flesh. Offers welcome. Please excuse the poor studio lighting and professionally staged picture. I'll post better ones when it's nighttime and I have my iphone 3 fully charged.
Payment by bank transfer or PP friends/family. For shipping only at buyer's cost.
Dimensions - 5500 by 3000 mm Unsigned Framed in museum glass, but can be unframed for shipping.

Collectors wanted for new book!, by nobokov on Mar 19, 2024 17:56:33 GMT 1, Dude if you've got an earlobe necklace collection you're definitely in the book. It's not about the biggest art collection. It's about the reason for the collecting. Dexter has his blood slides. I have mine.

George Condo ๐บ๐ธ New Print Release โข Print For Sale, by nobokov on Mar 19, 2024 17:52:44 GMT 1, I'm sure there are some forumites keeping their allocations quiet, but I can only count about 10 of these that were called out as allocated on this thread...be interesting to know how many of the other 400 were placed into a new collector base for AA. Yes, not everyone likes to advertise their purchases. Yeah no reason to post here to give fodder when they inevitably create the For Sale post.

Damien Hirst - Cherry Blossom 2023, by nobokov on Mar 15, 2024 18:14:57 GMT 1, Personally in your position I wouldnโt buy it. Itโs alot of money to throw into one piece if you donโt have a big collection. There are far better ways to spend to $25k and safer bets at auction right, a lot of primary releases at the moment havenโt adjusted their pricing to reflect the state of the market. As there are 900 of them, there is a good chance secondary prices could end up below cost in the near term, the fact that itโs over 4 months since they closed applications and theyโre still offering them out doesnโt auger well. Judging by the results of this auction, the New Now got old real fast.
It's a shame that galleries have to go by the rule, never lower your primary prices even if you're about to go out of business.

Damien Hirst - Cherry Blossom 2023, by nobokov on Mar 15, 2024 18:10:18 GMT 1, I was sent this - they didn't even show me the painting I was allocated. I emailed back to ask what picture I had been allocated. They emailed back: Like others have said, it feels like the paintings are being knocked back several times then offered out to the remainder of the list. However, it feels very sloppy to not even bother to show which painting in the original email. Maybe they only decided which one to send after I asked. For context, I own no art worth much. I think my most expensive piece is a $700 print. In my application I told them this would be my first original artwork. After reading this thread I'm thinking maybe this shouldn't be my first ever piece? Advice welcome!
Well you know what they say, "Buy high, sell low."

Pejac - Christies, by nobokov on Mar 14, 2024 23:10:52 GMT 1, i like pejac's art very much and i have several prints myself. i'm not a conspiracy theorist either. but i've now seen more and more pieces that i've never seen on the open market before or only in pejac's possession that went straight from spain to the auction house ('snow angel' at artsy, 'h2o colour edition' at christie's and now 'drain'). all the pieces went for very high prices. it just seems very systematic. Whoโs the manager behind Pejac? Maybe I should ask, is there a manager behind him? Word on the street is that his name is Maximiliano Ruiz.

Pejac - Christies, by nobokov on Mar 14, 2024 23:08:53 GMT 1,
Based on all the other mediocre results from that auction I just assume that there's a high probability of a manipulated result. Pejac is an art world nobody, and they expect us to believe that a real collector purchased this for 47,880 in a bad market? It's like when a kid edits his report card to show straight A pluses instead of something more realistic.
If this is real, since the buyer is likely a person who visits UAA, please post the painting on the "Your latest Art Purchase?" thread when you receive it.
Maybe youโre right but did this piece sell at an official auction for $60+k, yes or no? no.

Collectors wanted for new book!, by nobokov on Mar 14, 2024 23:06:17 GMT 1, Itโs an interesting idea. Could give some insight in the weird world of the collector. Maybe you need to find some celebs who like to share and talk about art and their collection. Not sure the moderate collector feels the need to share. Yeah I don't think my lowly collection of framed postcards, stretched out limited edition tote bags, and ear lobe necklaces will make the cut.

Collectors wanted for new book!, by nobokov on Mar 14, 2024 18:40:59 GMT 1, We're working on a new limited edition book project that explores and celebrates collectors, due for publication later this year. We're looking for people with impressive / unique / weird collections to be featured. Art, sneakers, toys, vinyl, clothing, but also totally left-field collections... Each collector will have approximately 10 pages in the book with a Q+A article about their inspiration, passion, motivation, etc, photos of key pieces and a portrait (if you like). Please DM if you'd like to be considered. (UK only as we'll need to come visit you and take photos.) Thanks, Mickey Are you planning on including that specific image?

Danielle Orchard Blue Head with Window 2019, by nobokov on Mar 13, 2024 4:01:38 GMT 1, Question to the original owner of this painting. Did you hang this in the bathroom for the last few years? Looks like the paint chipped off in many areas.

Pejac - Christies, by nobokov on Mar 7, 2024 1:41:46 GMT 1, Unrelated to this thread, but you gotta love an unregulated art market where you can get pals to bid up your own consignments, then dupe others to buy at a higher primary floor after you tout recent auction sales.

Damien Hirst Camino Real , by nobokov on Mar 6, 2024 19:47:12 GMT 1, I haven't seen the Richters come up much. Wish I had some cash laying around (and that I lived in the UK). I love it. Good luck with the sale. These Richters come up at just about every editions sale on Christies, Sotheby's and Phillips. In January the sold price range was from $11,302- $12,109
