That said, I've seen one of the Hirst's P4 series prints also produced by Heni and it looked terribly flat*. I think we need an opinion on P1, P2 or P3, assuming P19 are produced in the same way.ย
*Everybody seems to love P4 series, one more reason to ignore my opinion ย [/quote]
I think they're flat because the original flow series are enamel paint pressed by a glass panel. So I think they're actually more representative of the originals, but definitely not as desired as the squeegee works.

Immaculate. I have P15/P16 and they are top-notch. You won't be disappointed. P15/16 were chromogenic prints while these are giclee

You'd think that museum purchases these back at auction to keep up the illusion of value for all the fools to chase.

Yoshitomo Nara ๐ฏ๐ต New Print Release โข Contemporary Art , by nobokov on Nov 24, 2020 15:34:19 GMT 1, This was always an open edition, just check the other thread urbanartassociation.com/post/1859690/thread
This forum is always reaching to put value in worthless items in order to flip them. Beware of the information you get on this forum. Just buy original artwork or signed limited small editions with a stated edition size and you won't need to be outraged in the future.

New Adam Parker Smith Edition - Forever Yours, by nobokov on Nov 19, 2020 23:36:35 GMT 1, These look rather kitschy. But to be expected when you immortalize something you can get at the checkout stand of your neighborhood Piggly Wiggly. Maybe it's the resin that makes it look less classy than his other works.

Artist Plate Project 2020, by nobokov on Nov 19, 2020 22:13:52 GMT 1, Everyone has their own tastes. I merely wanted to lend my thoughts as to why there is such a fervor over a limited edition plate.
I appreciate that. Isn't it all caused by the possibility that they can resell for alot rather than art?

Artist Plate Project 2020, by nobokov on Nov 19, 2020 22:08:19 GMT 1, But in these cases, they're not really collecting art. They're collecting dishes and posters. I get collecting original artwork, but merchandise as an investment, i dont get. I do not think you understand the artist or his market. That is okay. Some would not understand collectors paying 8,000+ pounds for an open edition museum poster like Banksy collectors often do. A lot of these worlds seem odd from the outside looking in.
I don't understand people buying unsigned banksys either. All of it is rather nonsensical. Most regular people would probably say that spending thousands on original artwork is also insane. It's all relative.
I don't mind being separate from the fervor that causes people to overspend on merchandise. It's all castles in the sky.

Artist Plate Project 2020, by nobokov on Nov 19, 2020 21:55:31 GMT 1, Prints definitely more valuable than plates/random merch. Time will tell but weโve seen plenty of high profile artists do edition plates before and it rarely sustains value because most people donโt want to display plates. I do get that Nara has a lot of stupid collectors with a lot of money but wouldnโt bank on long term growth, sell it while itโs hot Nara has a unique market. Nara's collectors are not stupid. Nor are they wasting their money. They are collecting art from an artist they view as important. You and nobokov come off a bit uninformed. But in these cases, they're not really collecting art. They're collecting dishes and posters. I get collecting original artwork, but buying expensive merchandise from auction houses I don't get.

Artist Plate Project 2020, by nobokov on Nov 19, 2020 21:49:53 GMT 1, Plenty of suckers out there. In that same auction people paid 1764 pounds for kusama pumpkins you can get at moma for $560. It's either really dumb, unaware people, a manipulated market, or some sort of money laundering scheme.
