I wonder what genius at Pest Control came up with that idea. Goes against everything he originally stood for. Pathetic. Up there with John Lydon advertising butter. Originals and small series editions have always sold to collectors/VIPs (except the GDP lottery). It's nothing new and I see nothing wrong with that. When did you have an opportunity of buying an original from source (even if you could afford it)? The collectors are funding his different projects and to some extent the print releases to the general public.

I have to say although I respect the hirsts and other artists, but there is a lot being pumped out that just doesnโt excite me if Iโm honest but the name can entice. I much prefer artists like Dran, Pejac, a bit of pez where I am really looking forward to the skill and different pieces which I think are constantly evolving! I know Iโll be crucified by some for saying this but there is only so many bug eyed type characters, spot paintings or prints with lines ( you know the artists) that I can take! Look forward to hearing more on this! Ps I am pissed as a fart and it looks like I have spelt everything correctly but will prob wake up in the morning and think what the fuck did I type Peace out to the art lovers out there

And I'm not 100% sure the book is either? Wool's signature usually has a rounded W, but the signature in the example for this book has straight lines with hard angles... Idunno. Was very tempted to pull the trigger and buy one myself, but it's a bit strange.
For those that are looking for real works by Wool: I have a copy of Parkett no.22 with his famous Run Dog Run insert for sale.

During the exhibition in Mumok there were plenty of works made with spraypaint and depicting geometric shapes and therefore form integral part of Pendleton's work. The 40 spraypainted (not stencilled) book covers are perfectly in line with this work, even though they are relatively simple geometric shapes. Below are a few examples from the show's catalogue. |
