*** Beejoir Turin Scam Number 5 ***(& Nikon D70), by corblimeylimey on Oct 3, 2007 18:15:19 GMT 1, With regret, I need to sell my Turin Scam by Beejoir
It's in A1 mint condition and has been stored flat in acid free art portfolio since I purchased from SOS on release.
It's got a very low number 5 out of a run of only 75.
Now to price...
Here's the rundown of what they've sold for over the last couple of months 29th Jul - £716 4th Aug - £660 11th Aug - £541 20th Aug - £510 22th Aug - £460 24th Aug - £495 18th Sep - £323 30th Sep - £367 1st Oct - £357
I'd like around £400 which will include postage via Special Delivery to the UK.
Please PM me offers, around or above £400, if it doesn't get a good offer I'll probably put it on ebay in the future as I think this'll get over £500 easily at a better time, but the money would be handy now.

*** Beejoir Turin Scam Number 5 ***(& Nikon D70), by craigf on Oct 3, 2007 18:23:26 GMT 1, I love this print, but can't believe what has happened to prices. It has basically halved in the last two months. If this carries on it will be worth less than a Dan Baldwin (tongue firmly in cheek as I have 3 Baldwins myself).

*** Beejoir Turin Scam Number 5 ***(& Nikon D70), by scavos on Oct 3, 2007 18:52:28 GMT 1, Looks like a fair price in the scheme of things CBL. I agree that it'll bounce back up in value again. Be a shame to let this beauty go though fella. This one and CG150 are the two prints I'm really after. Just not got the cash to spare right now.

I know, I really like this print, it's better than SBFO IMO and would have looked great on the wall, and I'm sure I'd get a better price for it in the future but I need the money

Yeah got a D80
I was well pissed when I first got it though, as that evening I took a few test pics with speedlight flash on AUTO setting and they were really soft, in fact much worse than the pics I got from the D70 even after blowing the D70 ones up to match the size!
But after playing around with the Custom Optimise Image settings it's much improved by turning down the saturation and turning up the sharpness.

*** Beejoir Turin Scam Number 5 ***(& Nikon D70), by corblimeylimey on Oct 4, 2007 15:44:36 GMT 1, I've now had 2 good offers for the Turin Scam so last chance before it sells, it'll now need offers over £400 to secure.
It's looking quite likely that my camera has a buyer too, so thanks to trebor for pointing me in the direction of a graf artist that was looking for this particular model etc.

*** Beejoir Turin Scam Number 5 ***(& Nikon D70), by michaelscott on Oct 4, 2007 16:14:05 GMT 1, A perfect example, of how a "sale" should be conducted on here. corblimeylimey made everything clear. He gave the prices on recent secondary market re-sales, told us what he wanted as a reserve....and even came back to offer a last chance. well done, upfront, and precise execution.
IMO. when someone sells a print on the here, and does not state the price they want, they are just going for the jugular. Taking people for everything they can...while pretending to be our friend/peer, and avoiding the ebay dues. OK, I'll get off my soapbox.
I hope others follow your lead corblimeylimey...

*** Beejoir Turin Scam Number 5 ***(& Nikon D70), by corblimeylimey on Oct 4, 2007 16:31:57 GMT 1, Thanks michaelscott, I think I've asked a fair price, it's very slightly higher than the recent low prices obtained on the bay, but I do think it's a bargain for someone, if I didn't need the money as quickly as I do I'd keep hold of it.
