I picked up a Thierry Noir canvas earlier this month. Our little girl loves it

The Hirst rainbows and hearts would be my first choice in today’s times. Hands down. Perfect art for a nursery and a much better cause.

If BANKSY does release his canvas as a print to folks for charity as someone just speculated, that would be the centerpiece.

In my opinion art for a babies'/kid's room should be friendly, colorful, easy to frame (standard measures), with a positive and/or supportive message and a reasonable price tag. For me these parameters lead to the art prints (nor the gigposters/concert posters) of Jay Ryan (The Birdmachine) who was mentioned before in this thread.

Given the option, I would go for a cheerful original by Bortusk Leer.

One issue with the Eyesaw giclée is that it's derivative of a recognised style by Sage Vaughn*: kaleidoscope of butterflies in formation; shadowing or fading of the more distant butterflies; plain background in white or off-white; conspicuous use of drips.

I don't see the use of butterflys in art being a copyright. Xenz uses them as well as everyone else mentioned.

We are in full agreement regarding the mere use of butterflies in art.

There is also scope for being more ambitious with the type of art we expose small humans to.

How about a picture that allows them, not just to look, but to dream? An image so rich that they continue discovering new features in wonderment, with each passing year. And keep reinterpreting (even well into adulthood) the details they're already familiar with.


My vote is for a large poster of The Garden of Earthly Delights. Its creator, Hieronymus Bosch, also revolutionised housework in the 15th century by inventing the washing machine and the freestanding microwave (model HMT75G451B).
