It could just be variations in humidiy and temperature. With 'light touch' adhesion techniques and big fluctuations in environment you can sometimes get that with floated framing, even if it is executed well.
That said, it could just be cr@p framing.

Damien Hirst Spot Prints, by redfred on Jan 19, 2012 11:22:55 GMT 1, Interesting to note that the ripples are running vertically on one landscape piece yet horizontally on the others as far as I can tell. Ime just wondering if they have been rolled as they were just going to be used as exhibition pieces?

Damien Hirst Spot Prints, by Zippy on Jan 19, 2012 11:52:11 GMT 1, Familiar 'forum' pattern emerging on this thread...
Those that have bought (whether 1 or more for flipping)... "These are amazing value" "prices will definately go up" "you're going to kick yourself if you miss out" etc.. etc....
Those that have not bought... "they are only silkscreens" "quality / paper looks poor" "edition run too high" "new releases every few months"
Best advice is only buy if you can afford it. They will not all sell out in 5 mins and be worth ยฃ30,000 by next Monday. If you like it and will hang it and enjoy and you can afford to drop ยฃ3k on a silkscreen print, then buy it.
But please do stop trying to tell everyone else why you bought it or why you think we all need to buy one and our lives are incomplete without having one in out lives!
And good luck to those mad enough to go chasing around the World!

I haven't seen any posts on this thread were people are claiming them to be an investment.

Damien Hirst Spot Prints, by Goooogle Male on Jan 19, 2012 13:34:50 GMT 1, interestingly at London Art Fair I noticed that quite a few prints on various stands (esp downstairs) were showing quite bad rippling. Made me think there may have been some hefty temp/humidity fluctuation in the room.

Damien Hirst Spot Prints, by stang on Jan 19, 2012 14:58:15 GMT 1, Question for a helpful Londoner;
Still debating this trip but was wondering which Airport should I fly into to make visiting the two galleries the easiest (and fastest) on public transport - Heathrow or London City?
Only gonna be there for the day so most efficient route would be really helpful.
Cheers

Very similar time to central London I think. Heathrow is probably a bit easier. 1 tube line journey straight from Airport to Piccadilly Circus and then to Kings Cross. (all on Piccadilly line)

That's true, although to be honest, London City is such an easy airport to get in and out of, that there probably isn't much in it.
If I was the original poster, I would go with the cheapest option. The time element probably wouldn't swing it one way or another.

Thanks a lot guys - Heathrow will be cheaper by a good chunk so guess I should head there - would only make sense for London City if I was saving a load of time

Damien Hirst Spot Prints, by volvic on Jan 19, 2012 16:35:27 GMT 1, has anyone actually ever seen a hirst print framed before with there real eyes? they have ALWAYS been framed with slight ripples in, infact i have never seen a hirst print without (minus the exception of the turps bannana) it has something to do with allowing the print to move without being pinned down.

That's not true, actually. At least in my experience. I have a Gold Thioglucose float mounted and looks perfect.
