I converted a YOSTOGRAPH printing kit into a mini screenprinting studio... heres the first bash at printing something with it.

It got pretty messy.

I bought myself a little portable screen printing kit from Tokyo Hands in Shiinjuku and brought it home back in 2002.

You get everything you need to print T-shirts with an 80mesh screen but can buy finer 120mesh you can print finer images onto paper. The kit comes with a light sensitive mesh that you lock into the reusable frame, primed with emulsion, you use a black'n'wite A4 print and lay it o the exposure unit below the screen. The main unit then exposes the image, you wash the screen and your ready to print up to 100 times from each screen.

OK it'd been far too long since I last used my mini screen printing kit so I had a quick blast today using something Ben Eine sent me a couple of years ago for a joint project... I'm sure he won't mind.

A4 print and exposure unit...


I think I used a little too much ink but you get the idea.



Once printed my bootleg EINE sweatshirt it just needs to be ironed to fix it and it's ready to wear.

I'm sure there must be something similar in the UK but the system I use you can only buy or send to an address in Japan.

I don't know if Tokyo hands sell them internationally but i'd doubt it'd be worth the expense.

Hi Speebe, your's and Pure Evil's little silkscreen-printers look good, watched a video on U-tube about how to do it, must admit I got totally confused with it all, about light exposure's and stuff, so knocked that one on the head, I will just carry on buying ready made print's I think, much easier.

Love the look of that YOSTOGRAPH. Have been hankering after a GOCCO printer for a long time but have been put off by the short supply of consumables etc... and the prices, and the variants etc...

So I googled YOSTOGRAPH to see could I find one for sale. I couldn't.

But I think I found the next best thing. For just £30.

ha ha, I had not seen this thread previously , but these machine things look cool, i have wanted to have a play about with screen printing myself, seems like a good way to get into it. hope your purchase works out for you
