What do you REGRET Selling, Buying or Not Buying, by jakek on Sept 10, 2010 8:34:05 GMT 1, There are a few things i've bought when caught up in the hype.
I've recently sold my sey of d*face decks - they're not bad pieces but having got them i realised i'd never hang them.
Also I had bought a print from a now established artist and it never turned up, eventually he agreed to send another one but by the time it arrived i was so frustrated with the whole process i didn't enjoy looking at it so it was another one that went.
I've even regretted buying pieces by my favourite artists too - a couple of pieces i bought because i thought prices were rising so fast if i didn't get a piece then and there then they would rise beyong my reach. They have risen but i wish i'd have saved and got a more expensive piece that i love rather than the first i could get my hands on.

Its like looking at last weeks lotto numbers in the paper and wishing you had the paper the previous week, hindsight and all that, I remember seeing lots of pieces up on pow that i could have brought and have now gone up in value, but hey ho,

What do you REGRET Selling, Buying or Not Buying, by elwheel on Sept 10, 2010 11:25:53 GMT 1, Lots of prints in my portfolio were bought just because of the addiction. Its an addiction to smart images, lovely paper, the smell of ink and paint, but mainly its impulsive. Everything now has to be a committee decision and there are not enough walls to hang them, not enough frames that suit the print and decor, not enough money to buy the frames, too much money spent on impulse etc...etc... I don't regret buying anything really but do regret that I didn't think long enough about whether I would be able to or want to display them. My name is Shane, and I'm a print perv.

What do you REGRET Selling, Buying or Not Buying, by Deleted on Sept 10, 2010 12:47:03 GMT 1, Sold to stop the constant moaning about the Kitchen doors falling off. If i ever got the chance to own one again. Rather than sell, I'd wear a wig, put on some high heals, mini skirt and sell my ass rather than part with it. Big mistake. Have something coming soon that'll compensate very nicely though .

Wow that must have taken some serious moaning to make you part with that.

Good choice! I own a Red BG, and it'd pretty much be the last print i'd ever sell!

What do you REGRET Selling, Buying or Not Buying, by Coach on Sept 10, 2010 20:31:22 GMT 1, I really regret having an exchange of emails with Charming Baker about a canvass purchase, and getting cold feet, and not buying. Guess the canvass would now cost about 10, maybe 15 times what I would have paid then, and I know I will now never own a CB canvass. Gutted. c shows the people in it for the money... thought this thread was about the art. my bad.
Woah! Freerange - thats out of order. Re read my post will you. If I had said that I had the oportunity to buy a CB piece cheap and could have sold it for much more, then you would be right. But I didnt. I said that I had been in discussions with CB to buy a piece when prices were affordable (cos I love his art, not to make money - get it?), had bottled it (cos it was still a lot of money even then), and now his pieces are so much more expensive, and I will now never be able to afford one of his og's - so there will never be a CB canvass on my WALL. I thoght that was clear. I also thought that after several years, you would credit me with more, even if we havent always seen eye to eye. c

What do you REGRET Selling, Buying or Not Buying, by Deleted on Sept 10, 2010 21:11:35 GMT 1, I recall a few years ago I pitched up at TLSG after a 4 hour lunch very, very drunk.
I bought an Arofish Eject and Survive after a couple of more beers, brought it home and the Wife freaked. A few years on, I sold it for a tenner. I don't regret the money spend or lost, I regret the humiliation every time the wife tells the story.
In retrospect, I should've spent the cash on Jenny Thompson, before Wayne got to her.....
