What do you REGRET Selling, Buying or Not Buying, by kuni on Dec 23, 2020 20:38:19 GMT 1, The latest Harland Miller at a price tier I could just about afford. The pics on here that people have uploaded aren’t helping, I think it’s a stunner! I feel this one. It didn't get away as I didn't actually try for it, but after seeing the pics I wish I had. Looks like a real painting.

quoted a massive Susumu original early in the year primary from a gallery, didn't have the funds readily to hand.
3 months later managed to pull the money together... within those 3 months the market for him exploded. the piece wasn't even sold, they just decided not to sell it anymore 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ fucking fuming 😤

What do you REGRET Selling, Buying or Not Buying, by Yeah Yeah Yeah Round2 on Dec 23, 2020 21:38:10 GMT 1, Tim Biskup had some great older prints and originals from his inventory he found and was selling a few months back. I couldn't justify the price with some other stuff I'd just bought, but he's one of my favourite artists. I should have just done it.
Tim’s commission prices are pretty reasonable. Drop him a mail and he’ll come up with a piece within budget.

There were a few other artists I follow that had similar years...all of the sudden they were out of reach by a factor of 10. Where waiting even a month on a canvas made all of the difference.

There is also a stunning photo that I arrived too late to the party to buy as the editions had sold through:

And no, I'm not high.

What do you REGRET Selling, Buying or Not Buying, by Jaylove on Dec 24, 2020 14:56:20 GMT 1, Actually there is one I can think of. A dface going nowhere fast print at a very reasonable price. I didn’t jump on it because of the duty but I should have. Anyways it sat for months and then I guess someone found it and bought it. Just bought a house so hard to spend $2500 on a print when that could buy me a washer/dryer and a new faucet.

The deals can be found if you're patient. I got a shepard fairey grail for 300 when the going price was 1500-3000. People will still get in tough circumstances and have to sell, unfortunately. I really thought I'd be able to swoop in and get some deals from distressed sellers but I feel like prices have gone up in most cases.

What do you REGRET Selling, Buying or Not Buying, by bitola on Dec 25, 2020 8:21:50 GMT 1, I was in Hong Kong earlier in the year. A gallery was selling an alec monopoly child-like-scribble... allegedly a 1/2.. I walked up to it and on the counter next to the scribble was an electronic lighter (the fancy Asian style one with the lights).. after talking to the gallery worker, she walked off to see someone else, right there, I had a chance to grab the electric lighter and torch the alec monopoly scribble. Unfortunately - I didn’t do it
That, for me, was the one that got away for 2020.
