21st Century Love and Dirty Delux, by oneeye on Aug 14, 2007 17:08:54 GMT 1, Personally, I think 21stCL is the holy grail of all Mic's. Should be at 10K in a minute. I hate myself for not stepping up on this months ago.
DD probably around 6.
After he crushes America...who knows. But one thing is for sure, they ain't getting cheaper.

PPs and APs, what really makes the difference, to be honest these days nothing IMO. As these prints are Giclee it is not like the screen is fading over edition numbers, they should all be the same quality. I actually find something off putting about them, like they are not part of the family, cousins or something like that... We all have our favourite edition numbers, and of course No1 is special.
This is just my opinion, and am know for talking poop now and then...

Yep, especially as they seem to be sold before the main run. It's a mugs game to pay more. Obey and several others send them out randomly. P/P's are a different matter maybe, held by the printer/artist and occassionaly sold much further down the line or given away to friends/helpers whatever. Usually exchanged for services renderred. For galleries and agents to sell them at the same time or before tghe run is sold out. Well, extending the run to make mroe money is the only motive.

21st Century Love and Dirty Delux, by dave313perry on Aug 14, 2007 21:41:52 GMT 1, It gets to me sometimes when i see a bunch of A/P's or P/P's all the same!?!? i dont think people realise sometimes the reason behind these editions? and just see 1/5 = ยฃยฃยฃ
if these are the same as the finished run then they are pureley a money spinner in my eyes, which in turn detracts from the value of the art! wheres the bloody passion gone!!!

21st Century Love and Dirty Delux, by bobbymeachamjr on Aug 14, 2007 23:31:26 GMT 1, historically, P/Ps are worth LESS than the regular run and heres some guy who wants a lot MORE.
"Press proof. A press proof is a print that was produced during the initial "setting up" of the printing process and is used by the print maker and/or the artist to check the accuracy of the process. It will be identified as a "press proof" (PP) and will not normally be included as part of the regular print edition. Press proofs often have all of the attributes and enhancements of the regular edition and can be a very good "buy". However, when compared to the regular print edition they will have a reduced "value quotient".

21st Century Love and Dirty Delux, by bobbymeachamjr on Aug 14, 2007 23:41:28 GMT 1, just some info for those interested:
Press proof PP.
Artist proof AP. These are prints (produced after the press proofs) that the artist has spent considerable time and effort inspecting. Each print is individually scrutinized in detail to ensure that the print quality is to the artistโs satisfaction, and they are identified as an "artists proof" (AP). Artistsโ proofs are normally produced prior to the regular edition, but additional proofs may also be "culled out" at intervals during the print making process. Artistsโ proofs are a "tool" used by the artist to ensure the quality of the regular edition. However, as the number of artistsโ proofs is small in relation to the regular edition, they will have a higher "value quotient".

21st Century Love and Dirty Delux, by thelastclown on Aug 15, 2007 9:13:56 GMT 1, do you think that the artist hasn't spent considerable time and effort in inspecting his Printer Proof? their colour are very very brilliant (maybe more than the regular edition) and precisely signed! as they are just in a run of 3 i think they have been easily inspected with considerable time and...believe me, the looks simply stunning!!!

21st Century Love and Dirty Delux, by Lieberman on Aug 15, 2007 10:03:30 GMT 1, Printer's proofs are typically produced at the same time as the regular edition (as are artist's proofs) and are (should be) identical in all respects as the regular edition other than the numbering.

21st Century Love and Dirty Delux, by dave313perry on Aug 15, 2007 11:09:46 GMT 1, Surely the above information is only relevant for screenprinting and similar techniques. There is no variation or 'close inspection' needed with an ink-jet, they are the same from start to finish!?
