Banksy Prints straight to Ebay, by monochrome on Nov 9, 2006 13:09:18 GMT 1, i personally think a listing for each print with the obvious number associated with each print ie. Signed (150) - but it should be an auction only. Short one at that - 1 dayer maybe?

Banksy Prints straight to Ebay, by corblimeylimey on Nov 9, 2006 13:13:49 GMT 1, Now this is an idea! POW putting all new Banksy prints straight on ebay for auction! What would you think about that?
Well it would stop people making a quick buck, but would spoil it for us normal (not too wealthy) folk.

Banksy Prints straight to Ebay, by KaL976 on Nov 9, 2006 13:34:08 GMT 1, Two multiple item BINs [no over-ordering there - & the it'd be funny to watch the 'amount left' countdown]- let ebay's servers take the strain - just deal with the emails & shipping.

Banksy Prints straight to Ebay, by damullae on Nov 9, 2006 13:49:17 GMT 1, I would have thought that they would be keeping quite a few and selling them on ebay - but wouldnt expect that it would really make much of an impact on price as demand is so strong.

Surely not... wouldn't think they'd do that

No, POW dont keep any back to sell on like that. I would imagine Lazinc have a few of each edition to keep in stock for later

Banksy Prints straight to Ebay, by thetongue on Nov 9, 2006 21:46:22 GMT 1, As much as I was annoyed about not getting a 'Grannies', I can vouch that POW don't keep any back as a certain someone there gave up their own copy to make sure someone else wasn't left unhappy! Top work

Banksy Prints straight to Ebay, by stylus on Nov 9, 2006 22:09:08 GMT 1, Yep. Gotta love the guys at POW. They know that they could have sold out equally quickly at double the price on the grannies, but didn't.
The fact that they want to keep great art accessible at the cost of a quick buck is admirable. If they held a few back... I wouldn't hold it against them.
re: eBay, perhaps a dutch auction (I hope I've got the right term here) would be best, where everyone bids, then of the top 500 bids, everyone pays the bottom price. It's something like that, anyway! It would be a fine way to match the pricing between the primary (POW) and secondary (eBay) markets.

Banksy Prints straight to Ebay, by spence on Nov 9, 2006 23:02:31 GMT 1, Good idea that, i like it......i think It might put them out of my price range but at least ( as far as i can see ) they will go to people who really wanted them and not go to the rotters who seem to think it's great to bite the good hands ( POW ) that feed them.
How do i give you respect silky?

Banksy Prints straight to Ebay, by KaL976 on Nov 10, 2006 0:54:56 GMT 1, Um no... It would go to the people who have the money &/or credit card to spank & after it was all over they'd be back on the bay for double to satisfy the rest of the people who missed out - you can't escape supply & demand

What I would think about that would just be completely asterisked out by the swearbot.
I'll never register with ebay, so that would just kill my chances of ever owning another Banksy again.

I agree wholeheartedly. There's no denying that the demand level for Banksy works currently exceed the prices that they go for on POW. Putting it up for auction on eBay would ensure that only people with deep pockets will get prints. The rich just end up getting richer... as if we don't have enough of that in the real world already

Banksy Prints straight to Ebay, by ptron on Nov 10, 2006 4:22:55 GMT 1, I think that's a great idea and I bet they'd sell for much less than all those thieves on ebay are getting for them now. The big plus is that POW gets the additional money, not sleazy opportunists. Maybe they can start a Banksy conservation society with it.
