Barely Legal prints-valuable?, by slohcinsew on Oct 4, 2006 0:36:46 GMT 1, Hi--I'm in the process of purchasing all 6 prints from the LA show (will be done tomorrow) and wanted to make sure it was a good idea.
I read that the prints may be re-done for a UK show and with POW stamp. The prints from the LA show are simply numbered with no other stamps--does that make it less valuable or interesting to collectors and fans?
I love the work for the work and don't intend on selling them, but also wanted to make sure i wasn't getting caught up in banksy-hype and paying sucker rates for something that is simply not considered valuable by the community. thanks for guidance/feedback!!

Barely Legal prints-valuable?, by gm on Oct 4, 2006 8:04:53 GMT 1, Congratulations on your purchase.
In my opinion, the LA prints are going to be worth more than the POW versions simply because there's not as many of them.
Unless the POW ones are signed.

Barely Legal prints-valuable?, by foundation on Oct 4, 2006 8:22:53 GMT 1, Indeed, the LA ones are almost a separate entity due to the circumstances and paper type etc, a full set of the LA ones will be a valuable comodity regardless of what POW release, its the fact that they are different from the POW stuff that makes em special.

Welcome to the forum ;D
Well I guess it does also come down to how much your gonna pay for them But as everyone else has said, it sounds like the LA prints are gonna be rarer than the UK POW prints (thats if we ever get any) so they should be worth more in the long run Well done! on getting ya hands on the set ;D

Barely Legal prints-valuable?, by RBK on Oct 5, 2006 16:05:37 GMT 1, I feel like a broken record as I find myself typing this a lot.... PURCHASE ART BECAUSE YOU LIKE IT.
If you would be happy with it hanging in your home - even if it were worth nothing - get it. If you are buying with 'investment' in your head - the stock market is a much better and less risky bet.

So slohcinsew, did you end up buying the 6 prints?
The LA prints may not be stamped, but I noticed from my friend's prints that there's an "Arches 88" watermark near the corner. Not sure if "watermark" is the right term for it, but whatever it is, it's there. Probably the brand of the paper or something.
