Jeremy Geddes - Pale Memory, by saint on Oct 18, 2011 12:54:40 GMT 1, he's got skills i guess but his work isnt for me, i just can't get into it at all. Not sure what you lot see that i dont, looks like a study of a building and a group of naked men to me. The way the building is bulging out doesnt look right either, it looks added later.
Just my 2c of course.

Jeremy Geddes - Pale Memory, by dust909 on Oct 18, 2011 13:10:44 GMT 1, I can see where you're coming from saint. I love the detail that goes in to all his work but only the cosmonaut pieces really do it for me! Can't really put my finger on why exactly.....Something quite apocalyptic about them. Plus I love sci fi stuff so that kinda ties in with them to in a way.

Each to there own I guess, I struggle to see what isnt impressive about a painting like this on a 45x30cm panel. Technically he is awesome... what art do you usually collect if you dont find this impressive ? (thats a genuine question btw, not me trying to be a t**t

tell me about it ... the longer Im into this collecting "business", the more of those moments I have.. and Im NOT sure if Im happy about that... at least Im trying to think of what/how I felt when I decided not to buy his Red Cosmo for example, so I know where I went wrong...

As you say, each to their own. I'm not knocking him, he's got skills. But there are ALOT of artists out there who have skills that i dont like/get their work. Its not a dig, its not a problem with Geddes, i just dont like it. IMO theres a big difference between having skills, and being a great artist. Geddes has skills for sure.............
Again, just my 2c, and what do i know? nowt thats what.

Jeremy Geddes - Pale Memory, by geoffw on Oct 18, 2011 15:37:19 GMT 1, I hear you Saint...technically it's spot on but his work does nothing for me and I thought it last print was immensly poor (the pigeon threw the whole image off IMO)
