Sounds very strange, backdoor prints usually carry no markings at all, never mind a signature and stamp ( hence the name as they were taken out of the backdoor of the printers and were never part of the official run), to be stamped and signed adds another dimension to it, might be worth speaking to the person you got it from and clarifying things, if its stamped and signed its more than a backdoor print by a good way.

FS: Applause, signed, stamped, unnumbered, by charlieny13 on Mar 11, 2007 19:45:41 GMT 1, it is definately stamped with a pow stamp and signed, I have read the "back door" term on here and thought it would be associated with what I have since there is no prov.

FS: Applause, signed, stamped, unnumbered, by hungrig on Mar 11, 2007 20:22:40 GMT 1, The expression "back door" with Banksy prints is used to refer to unauthorised prints that came from the original printers in Birmingham for POW/PYMCA prints. This was before the printing was done in-house by Ben at POW.
What you seem to be saying is that you somehow managed to get a signed, stamped but unnumbered 'Applause' print from POW, i.e. a print outside of the official run of 150. If that is the case, then it would appear to be the result of either theft or dodgy dealings at POW. Either that or it was a gift from POW. If it was a gift, you shouldn't be selling it.

FS: Applause, signed, stamped, unnumbered, by tranceport185 on Mar 12, 2007 0:37:29 GMT 1, Stamped signed and unnumbered that could happen but I would have hoped pow would not release such a thing or even "given" it away. I mean the stamp is s**t without providence in the numbered collection, and I guess is the equivalent of a signature on a large napkin. But unfortunate in a sense that POW would even give something away like that. I mean in the wrong hands a pencil and an eBay account and an unknowing soul has been robbed out of 6500k. Esp relying on the so called power of the POW stamp. I just hope this isn't the truth but hell I check every print with POW anyways b4 I buy on ebay.... such is life now I guess. OK if i paid 6500 I would check but why give someone the option... <sigh>
PS Not attacking the owner of the item just letting you know what you have could cost someone a lot of money and or a heart attack if misused.
