Hi mate ,its been a bit hectic lately . Have been renovating a house , just moved in at the weekend although its not finished .My other half let a few of her prints go , to help pay for the builder. Glad to see FC go to a good home Don' t worry I've still got mine ;D
Looking forward to getting some of mine up on the walls(once I finish the plastering etc, bit of a busman's holiday for me though)

cool, congrats with the new house ! so the FC cash just goes on the walls in a different manner ha ha.. good luck. Heading off to Sonar Festival in Barcelona Thursday-Sunday.. bank account looking well skinny though I'll be up a ladder trying to scrape of a few of the Invader mosaics ;-) I know where a few are ;D ;D ;D

A guy I work with knows a girl who went with some of her friends to an exhibition a few years back, and because everyone else was doing it, she decided she'd buy a Heavy Weaponry canvas - though £80 seemed steep to her at the time.

She sold it last week for £18k...

Where did she sell it ?
Oh BTW there are 2 different sizes of this canvas but both in editions of 25 ( as far as i know anyway )

I got the impression it was 2001 - does that sound right?

She called around a few art dealers after hearing that some of her mates had sold similar canvases from the same show for about £11k, and somehow ended up with a gallery and a dealer bidding off by phone against each other, lucky girl!

Can anyone confirm that there were 2 different sizes of this image? One 24cm x 30cm and one 30cm x 30cm - each edition of 25?

It is beyond frustraing to look at some of these old prices but I am serious in the market and may make a move on the larger size for a good chunk of change. thanks in advance

Hi, I have a Heavy Weaponry Canvas that I am thinking about selling... If there is anyone interested, shoot me an email for more details...
It has provenance from POW and comes with a certificate of authenticity. It is also slightly larger than most of the others, coming in at 35cm x 45cm

Was it ever discovered why there are two editions (one with elephant facing left and the other right)? I love this image and was wondering if anyone has the foggiest about what the going rate for an editioned canvas is. I also saw bankrobber has an A/P of the image that could be tempting? Any insite the group has on this edition is much appreciated by this newby.

two sizes of the canvas were sold ............the slightly bigger one was sold in Germany , the smaller 1`s sold at Santas Ghetto Kingly street.

I could be wrong but I have seen only 1 with the image flipped that was sold at Kingly street ...so maybe only a few where done that way

I believe one was rectangle 16 x 12 inches and one was square 12 x 12.

I don't think there was any rhyme or reason as to which direction the elephant faced on those canvases as plenty face both left and right and to clarify there is only one edition to my knowledge with canvases of variable sizes within it. There are plenty of one offs as well, the AP's and of course the edition of 10 heavy weaponary's from '00. If I were buying, I'd be happy in the 20-25k GBP range for that canvas private sale with dealers asking in some cases multiples of that #.

Yes they do indeed, Lazarides's prices could depend on the nature of the client though so better to ask them directly ;-)

Last time I've checked (a few months ago) I came across 5 of them in total just in London (!), all around the £45K-50K range...

Could be wrong regarding those sold at auctions but last 2 I've seen were :
- at Bonhams in Oct'11 (London-NY-Bristol, 3/10) which sold for £25K including premium
- at Bonhams in Oct'12 (Heavy Weaponry, 14/25) which sold for $47.5K including premium (~ £29.5K at the time)
