Eelus Canvases on the bay, by lesroy on Jan 12, 2007 18:53:32 GMT 1, what a fucking p*ick!
I hope eelus never sells him a fucking thing again.!
I got the impression that Eelus was making the canvas just for me, hence it was special... this c u n t has abused the trust that Eelus gave him only to sell 5 canvasses for £5k
I fcuking hate this p*ick!
I say we all send him offensive emails.... C U N T

Eelus Canvases on the bay, by andrewd on Jan 12, 2007 20:25:48 GMT 1, I wouldn't mind so much but I haven't got mine yet and whilst I don't mind waiting for a work of art that I can enjoy over a lifetime it sort of rankles that people like this are wasting Eelus's time and my time. Lesroy, give him hell!!!!

I don't quite think it applied to an eBayer!!!!!!!.
Totally agree with lesroy's comments about the canvas being special.

Eelus Canvases on the bay, by os1so on Jan 12, 2007 20:43:17 GMT 1, I know it sucks this guy putting them on ebay but he has put them in an online store and Eelus on he website asks: "Interested in wholesale? Would you like to sell loads of eelus products and help to keep my monkey fed? If you're interested, get in touch by clickinghere." just maybe he has a deal with Eelus (only Eelus can say). But he is taking the piss with the price. He didn't like my offer of £350 for one of them ;D

Eelus Canvases on the bay, by rodlarock on Jan 13, 2007 16:47:56 GMT 1, Im going to repeat this here from the eelus board but you all have lost the plot!!
"I have no idea what you people think should happen when an artist creates a piece of work that become popular??
I like eelus work... actually I love his artwork, I have dealt with him a few times via email in ordering his work and he is a great guy to deal with.
I wish him all the success in becoming a full time artist.
I hope he can one day have a family and put kids through school whilst living his dream of being a full time artist (if that what he wants to do!!)
GUESS what??? If he is to be become a successful commercial artist his art work will continue to rise in popularity, it will be re sold and even auctioned and it will end up in art dealerships.
I'm not an art dealer. I have never sold a single piece of art on ebay but I understand that this is how things develop for a successful artist.
I hope eelus become a successful artist and if it means some of his work is for sale from art dealers, good."

Eelus Canvases on the bay, by RBK on Jan 13, 2007 17:56:03 GMT 1, I think its both a matter of price and quantity that this guy is selling.
I think lots of you people are funny... are you really telling me that given the choice, you would rather have a piece by an Artist you own not increase in value because of their poplularity increasing? Good art rises to the top. It is no surprise that people are into Banksy, Beejoir, Eelus, Micallef - it obviously resonates with a good number of us.

Well said!!!
This conversation is never f u c k i n g ending on these boards.. street art is becoming more and more popular.. The prices are going up... the art is becoming harder to find!!! BORING BORING BORING... People can only sell for stupid money if people are prepared to pay stupid money..
What is Art?? Pictures on your walls. What is Money?? Pictures in your pockets. What is the point of this thread??

Good point, but if they do sell at that price this is good news for eelus surely, the fact that chewbarber prints are getting around £100 on ebay goes some way to justify the next prints from eelus selling for £75.
If these sell for a grand each or even over £700, eelus will then charge at least £600 for his next canvases, who doesn't like a 50% wage increase.
My point is that subsequent dealing in an artists work which pushes the prices up has got to be good for the artist, but they must feel annoyed about their art selling for double what they sold it for immediately.
The downside of it is the prints cost us more in the first instance.

Eelus Canvases on the bay, by Ågent ßacardi on Jan 13, 2007 22:16:55 GMT 1, I think this has more to do with the fact that eelus' fame is new and unprecedented (to him and to us). As I've previously expressed on another thread some time ago, this is a double-edged sword: On one hand, the presence of vultures resellers for higher values is indicative of his rising star, which is of course very good for him. But on the other hand, as eelus has expressed displeasure about the flogging, it must make him feel like he's being used by greedy people who are not as interested in his work as they are in making a quick buck off of his talent/ideas/hard work. "Hey hurry up and finish my canvas, I want to put it on eBay and make money. Your image is nice and all, but I love the profit it bears a lot more"... I imagine that's gotta be the ultimate insult to an artist.
This single seller flogging so many at one time, to me, reeks of one who bought with the sole intention of selling and has little (if any) interest in eelus' work. So many people have yet to receive their canvasses and eelus is working his arse off to get them all out... and here you have an idiot who may have pestered eelus to finish his order... only to put them on eBay the moment he/she receives them. I think it's the insolence of the act that's the issue here, not the quantity/price/nature of good art to rise in value per se.

Eelus Canvases on the bay, by Run Pig Run on Jan 14, 2007 13:25:39 GMT 1, it's eelus' fault - if he didn't want people to buy to sell he should of limited them to one per person. surely he must of known they were being bought for resale when the order for 5 came in.

great looking pieces though
