I thought that too. Any idea what customs charges would be? Are there customs charges on every print shipped over from the US or is it random? Excuse my ignorance.

Depends if you get caught - I do every time

luck of the draw if you get caught but shipping them overnight or express seems to help them get through un noticed also putting the pow tube in a box can help

then again Ive also got away with a few. The problem is if you are willing to risk it being labelled a gift, me personnally Id rather pay extra than losing the lot if something happens.

I've shipped half a dozen to the UK without them getting stopped by customs or having VAT required of the recipient by using FedEx, enclosing the round tube into their shipping triangle, and describing the item as fine art for personal use. I also write a note on the customs form explaining that the Item was purchased in the UK from a UK shop, and is simply returning to a different residence.

Maybe it sounds cheezy, but writing an explanation seems to help.

BTW, FedEx faxes the customs form to UK customs and the packages are flagged for inspection or cleared before they are ever loaded onto the plane. That way, upon arrival all the flagged items are unloaded last and provided to customs in a special container. Hence, my very clear explanations are designed to provide a person who is seeing nothing but a faxed customs form with enough information to feel comfortable sending it through lickity split.

Thanks for the lowdown on shipping and customs tax guys. +1Tad - I don't think it's cheesy to write an explanation on a note. Whatever it takes. It's a great idea because it seems to work. It'll help in my future communication whenever buying from US.

You started on £1900 went up to £2k and are now back down to 1900. Not really dropping it.

If you really want to sell it put it on e-bay with no reserve, 0.99p start and you'll get the going price.
