Hi Remi, I dont know whether you are having a laugh or what ,with this work, as much as I look at it, I for the life of me cant see any redeamable features, there is no depth, no colour contrasts, nothing that makes this a canvas worthy to go on a wall, sorry mate, it is a mess.

Hi loucastel. I am not sure entirely agree with your post but I am interested to here your criteria of a wall worthy art work?Particuarly your reference to 'redeamable features'.I find peoples 'artwork formula' really interesting. Have you ever read Clive Bell's papers on Significant Form? Its pretty dull but I have never forgotten it. In fact it can be quite haunting when I am making work. I guess its that age old question of what makes a good picture, do aesthetics follow formula? origins of taste? etc. Anyway, I find all that really interesting but I am a complete bore.

looking at it, it has been done in a similar style to a rothko, whit lots of background layers and then a final colour on top, i really like it ;D

no, rothko paints a load of bits in the back and then just paints over them, so when you look at it for a while-all these different shades, tones, textures and shapes come through, or was that to advanced

Loucastel, horses for courses, there aren't certain rules that artists have to abide by and after seeing some of your collection posted on here, I am not surprised you don't like it, as you seem to like some freaking weird stuff.

I think it's fresh and you can't deny Remi has his own distinctive style. In no way is he having a laugh, stop being a c**t
