Does anyone know of an essex based studio where I could pay to use their screen printing equipment occasionally? Needs to be a professional setup, e.g. vacuum benches, proper exposure unit, drying racks etc.

East London: Well, personally, I think the use of 'old skool' hip hop icons is rather negative for graffiti today. I mean, they don't embody the scene nowadays, they're just commercial 'pop icons'. Dre on a t-shirt is the same as seeing Bob Marley on one, you get me though?

Here is my first 2 months of stencilling.
Learnt a lot so far, and pleased with the progression.

Top tip...don't waste your time doing 20 grey layers
Many of them can't even be seen haha.

Hi,

For those of you who spraypaint on canvas, do you use some kind of primer, or cheaper paint as a base on the canvas before you start to paint?

I`m using some cheap canvas, and the paint tends to "bleed" some if I don`t have at least a couple of base layers first.

I've only ever used ready primed canvases.
Probably cheaper and easier to buy ready to go canvas, rather than priming yourself.
Proper canvas primer will no doubt cost a premium from the art store.

I do the same. Although you might be able to prime with a watered down emulsion. I've used that in the past when painting on canvas I've stretched myself.
