Tate Modern π¬π§ London, by romanywg on Apr 2, 2008 11:47:46 GMT 1, This was mentioned in the Independent Review in February, the one with Nick Walker on the front. It seems that Cedar Lewisohn (the curator) has a book on 'Street art' coming out in May too. Funny that.

Tate Modern π¬π§ London, by Jef Aerosol on Apr 2, 2008 12:10:48 GMT 1, for a start, some friends of mine whose work I really like : - Yzeult : open.your.eyes.free.fr/ www.myspace.com/yzone She's a really nice girl and we love each other's work. She deserves more recognition.
- Didier Duyats A good friend too, we also support each other's work and I feel we belong to the same "family" : www.dddmostra.com/
- Speedy Graphito Speedy is a good friend and a great artist, but I guess I needn't introduce him as he's been famous since 1984. speedygraphito.free.fr/
- Miss Tic : we've also been friends for more than 20 years and she certainly is the most famous French street stenciller. A lot of people here don't know Blek but everybody knows MissTic. She has been extremely active on the streets of Paris since 1984 and her works can be seen on film posters, car rental company, stationnery, murals, lingerie line, etc...

Tate Modern π¬π§ London, by Jef Aerosol on Apr 2, 2008 12:18:47 GMT 1, the problem with Miss Tic is that her aphorisms can't be easily understood by non french speakers and she's as much a poet as she's a stenciller. Actually, I think the visuals are more an accompaniment of the texts. Her words often say more than the images they go with.

Tate Modern π¬π§ London, by pezlow on Apr 2, 2008 13:25:47 GMT 1, To me the news that the Tate is going to hand over its outside walls to 6 street artists is really significant. The tate modern is the second most visited attraction in the whole of the UK, after Blackpool pleasure beach. For three months during it's most busy time it's going to be a showcase for the art we love. Millions and Millions of people will see it.
We are at the forefront here of a huge global movement. The queues at andipa, Tate Modern etc etc - the signs are all there that this little scene we all love is about to blow up and become something truly special. Our little forum world is tiny - there is a whole world out there. Hold on to your hats, it's gonna be some ride.

Totally agree with you Pez. I was waiting for this to happen though - sooner or later - glad it is now

Beautifully put Pez - All I could come up with was "It doesn't get better than that" - you expressed my sentiments infinitely better than I did. But I have got a bit of a hangover...
