Banksy's next print.... what you wanna see?, by monochrome on Aug 8, 2006 11:03:46 GMT 1, Are we allowed to say this is 'lazy'?
I think if you are going to re-print, then the early prints that seem to be much wanted are the ones people want. Personally I'm OK, but would be less than happy with another Soup Can.. so far we've had...
Original Soup Can x 10 signed Soup Can colours x 10 signed Original Soup Can x 150 signed Original Soup Can x 500 unsigned
What's the next version??
Are we allowed to say this is 'lazy'?

Banksy's next print.... what you wanna see?, by lesroy on Aug 8, 2006 11:19:00 GMT 1, I wouldn't be rushing out to buy another version of Soup Can... Banksy has sooo many idolised prints that people love. Picking a new, unused one should be easy... as the suggestions on this thread proove!

Yeah, I agree its like POW say to Banksy that they have sold out of prints so he just says ahhhh, dont bother me and go and do another one with some cans on!
The trouble for Banksy is that if he dunt bring anything out others like D*Face, Dolk, Eelus, Beneine, Faile, will take up the slack Good for them and us but not for Banksy

Banksy's next print.... what you wanna see?, by monochrome on Aug 8, 2006 13:09:25 GMT 1, we must all admit now that Banksy doesn't need POW to sell prints now. if he continues to use them, then briliant. but the most important reality is that they cannot charge £150 for a print anymore, and should ditch the numbered unsigned. the quality of Grin Reaper needs to be replicated, and the run\price to be the same - it gives everyone a chance to own at £400 and deters those carpet baggers buying 10 prints. anyway, just get something out soon PLEASE!

I wish £400 gave me a chance to own one! (well it would with a bit of saving, but they will sell out so quick I wont have chance to!) I thought the purpose of POW, and why it started in the first place was to give access to affordable art for everyone? £150 for a signed print is fair to me and that what I would say is reasonable.
Banksy probably never HAS needed POW, and they probably never "needed" him (but probably wont hear them complain! - or Mr B for that matter )
Basically, I agree with the dropping of unsigned runs, maybe scrap them and increase the run of signed editions? I think it confuses people further as to what is worth what (simpletons like me anyways) and am sure a fair few people have been conned into thinking they were buying signed when it was in fact not.
Anyway, yeah. Bloody hurry up. And bloody make sure it's not soup cans. Pants!

What percentage of people in the UK do you think can afford to blow £400 on an art print?
I've been buying Banksy prints I like since Have a Nice Day was released but I simply can't afford to spend £400 on one. So if they all come out at that price I guess I will have to give up on buying any more. Which is a shame but hardly life threatening for me. It's those that haven't purchased a print yet that will suffer.
I'm hoping POW will limit orders to one print at most per address, visa card etc.
Also, if and when POW release a new Banksy print it would be good if they put it on a completely new page/ link (which will scupper all the page refreshers) and then send an email out with that link in it to all of their mailing list giving everyone a fair chance to buy.
I'm sure they are thinking of all of these things already and more besides as they seem acutely aware of the problems of the carpet baggers.
