What next for Banksy? , by Daniel Silk on Nov 9, 2006 19:57:22 GMT 1, ;D Following on from NuMusic saying about how Banksy is so skilled is so many different mediums of Art -
What do you think he can do next? Will he stick with what we have seen from him this year? or will he surprise us by moving into different areas? More Sculpture? Just Street Work? Only Canvases?

What next for Banksy? , by corblimeylimey on Nov 9, 2006 20:09:13 GMT 1, Pretty much nothing would surprise me.
Maybe more street art, maybe elsewhere (like he did with the West Bank barrier) anymore of anymore would be good I'm sure, I think he's far away from running out of ideas.

I'd like to see him mess with 2 extremes, elctronic arts with someone like grl who make open source software for street artists. see graffitiresearchlab.com/ for some work we did recently in Norway with them.
Ceramics would be cool also.. like Charlie Kraft, difficult medium to work with www.antiquesatoz.com/artatoz/krafft/war.htm

Personally, I would like to see more vandalised masterpieces but thats probably not going to happen. I reckon that there must be some kind of stunt on the horizon involving a gallery or meuseum again too. I know he's done that already but I think this kind of activity has been why he is who he is. you know what I mean?

What next for Banksy? , by pastiepie on Nov 10, 2006 3:01:10 GMT 1, I think Banksy's street-art career is sadly coming to an end. With his profile as high as the moon, the monetary value involved and his easily distinguished style his work is easy pickings for street crims. I wouldn't think it strange if someone knocked down a wall with a piece on it considering the price it could fetch in a private sale. I'm not saying I think he'll stop completely but i just think more time and effort will be put into other areas.
Personally I like his publicity stunts such as the Guantanamo sp? bay prisoner in DisneyLand and him putting artworks up in museums and galleries. This is more about a short term event and then once it's done it doesn't matter if it's removed.

What next for Banksy? , by manchestermike on Nov 10, 2006 10:26:34 GMT 1, I heard he's going to retire and open a tea shoppe in Cornwall.
Seriously though, I think it has to be more street art, after what is going on with the current crop of prints I'd be surprised if any new ones come out for a while... maybe he'll keep quiet for a while in preparation for a really big work

What next for Banksy? , by kentrfc1 on Nov 10, 2006 13:15:56 GMT 1, I don't think Banksy would restrict himself to doing certain types of art. Just seems to be going through phases really. I think more street art next year though...
