Its not the first of its type to go on ebay, they had one of the traffic island lights (yellow bottome with blue keep right arrow at the top, know what I mean?) with a rat on it a year or so ago.

that was my thought exactly! I always wonder how people get hold of these things. Did the seller (he/she) buy it from the newsagent for £50 or did they just steal it?

talk about buying a Banksy for the sake of owning a Banksy. I'll bet there is loads of that going around lately!

I used to ride past that Gangsta rat everyday... Its a shame its gone. (But it was looking a bit tired and faded by that point, so im pretty sure its not THAT good an investment! Certainly not a couple of grand!!!)

I went into the newsagents the day it dissapeared and I think he sold the whole box for £200.

Yeah, it could be made into something maybe if you cut it so the lid was flat It would be a shame if they just cut the picture out

it was reported that someone bought it off the newsagent for about £300. so at least it wasn't actually stolen. just taken out of its environment. Like a saffa in London

I noticed a while back that it had gone and a brand spanking new newsagent's box was in its place.

I expected it on ebay soon!! so no real surprise I guess...
