On the Streets...?, by thetongue on Nov 14, 2006 14:03:43 GMT 1, Out of the new print images, how many have you actually seen on the streets of London (or elsewhere)?
Everyone seems so eager for them but if you haven't seen an original then where's the link??
I want more rats!! Or at least to see Sale Ends slapped across the front of Harrods! ;D
p.s I know there's a section for street art but think people only seem to be looking in the general chat to see when the prints are out ;D

On the Streets...?, by thetongue on Nov 14, 2006 17:36:47 GMT 1, That's my whole point!
The prints I like or want to own are images that I've seen, whether for real or photos of when on the streets, and the situation they've been used in. Why are people so keen to get these new images that have just been released to make money?
Don't get me wrong, I quite like the 'Trolleys' but what's everybody elses opinion?

On the Streets...?, by corblimeylimey on Nov 14, 2006 17:47:35 GMT 1, A good image is a good image whether it's on the street or on paper, of course it's not the same thing but each serves a purpose, sticking up printed paper on the streets or spray painting the interior of my house just won't do.

On the Streets...?, by Run Pig Run on Nov 14, 2006 18:23:42 GMT 1, I agree it's better to have a print that has some kind of story behind it like soup can or cnd soliders, but on the other hand I love napalm and as far as I know it's never been on the streets it's just been in the books. I also like some peter blake stuff but you wouldn't catch the old codger out on a cold november night d*facing the streets.

On the Streets...?, by KaL976 on Nov 14, 2006 18:37:23 GMT 1, The Trolley's idea is old, it's in one of the books*. The Trolley print is new...
Why it's the most popular of the new ones I imagine.
*unless my memory really is that shot away

In think they're very weak, alright for a wry smile everynow and then, but they're prints, as opposed to screenprints of other art, nice if you like that sort of think. But none of them really interest me.

On the Streets...?, by thetongue on Nov 14, 2006 20:25:43 GMT 1, Nice to see some good comments!
Also thanks to those who took away my respect points for daring to ask for peoples opinions!!
Would be interesting to know how many people in the UK have bought/ buying prints but have never actually gone to see them on the streets, costs less than £200...

On the Streets...?, by pastiepie on Nov 15, 2006 1:16:33 GMT 1, Trolley Hunters is kinda based on "Early Man Goes to Market" which Banksy covertly placed in the British Museum. Well they both have trolleys and involve hunting so there's definitely some sort of connection.

On the Streets...?, by gm on Nov 15, 2006 1:59:41 GMT 1, Wasn't the book with the Trolleys in published well before the Peckham Rock stunt?
Ack, I dunno, I get confused. One little black book looks much like another to me (and I don't know where any of them are at the moment so I can't check).

Probably & Me too
To be honest it's a good day if I remember that underwear goes inside the pants.

On the Streets...?, by andrewd on Nov 15, 2006 9:50:02 GMT 1, no, it's Peter Blake that lives in Chiswick, not banksy! Someone confusing Peter Blake with Banksy? Well of course Peter Blake had a studio in the old railway signal box in Wellow near Bath, which is of course near Bristol. This was back in the 60's and the Beatles used to pop down there. After all the Laz is Banksy nonsense what next, Peter Blake is Banksy? one of the Beatles is Banksy?!!
