'Backdoor' ordering method?, by chrisp on Nov 17, 2006 0:52:49 GMT 1, Hello mate, i got one today via this method, some one posted the web page address of the checkout page with options of which panksy print you wanted, i selected unsigned then went straight through to the checkout. This page was still active even tho they had stoped any one using the site via there home page. I hope this makes sense?

'Backdoor' ordering method?, by alvington89 on Nov 17, 2006 1:10:03 GMT 1, Cheers for that chrisp. I gave up once I saw their announcement. Have to remember that for next time. I'm amazed that anyone managed to get a print. I got though to the check out but either the item dissapeared from the basket or timed out because it wouldn't load etc. All in all a very frustrating afternoon. I wonder what POW will do regarding the remaining 3 prints? There has to be a better way than this.

'Backdoor' ordering method?, by ptron on Nov 17, 2006 1:34:34 GMT 1, Please can anyone explain how this works? Failed refresher seeks enlightenment
You just put a "s" after the http so it's https. The s stands for secure. Lots of sights have https versions, for example gmail has a https version which is encrypted. POW must have redirected the main page which was http to the sold out warning, but forgot to do the same for the https. So for a few minutes some people got through. Even though I didn't get in before they closed that hole. I'm happy some peeps from here got some instead of the scalpers.

'Backdoor' ordering method?, by Jonny Breaks on Nov 17, 2006 10:27:05 GMT 1, like most people i'd given up when the message came up but lots of people were posting on this site saying they had just managed to get one so i simply clicked through on some of the address's stored in my browser and then suddenly up popped the checkout....at the left of the checkout was the usual art, books, product etc. clicked through on to art and up popped Applause. ordering one took 2mins. However 5mins later the whole site came back into life but this lasted another 5mins and then Applause was sold out.
like most people i was sat on the site since 12.30pm so i guess i just got lucky.....
From what Steph said in her post im sure POW will have this all sorted for next time.

'Backdoor' ordering method?, by Ågent ßacardi on Nov 17, 2006 22:07:33 GMT 1, I doubt POW will allow this to happen the next time. They're perfecting their ordering system as we go along. When Grannies came out, people could still add one to their basket even though it said "Sold Out". When Applause came out, they fixed that problem... but now there was a new 'loophole'. So I'm pretty sure they'll learn to avoid that in the future.
Besides, they've already said that they won't be releasing anymore prints until they find a way to improve in order to avoid something like yesterday. Hopefully when print sale resumes, it'll be much more pleasant. Don't know how they'll do it, though
