Any Banksy sites though, before we end up with the Van Gogh's and Picasso's etc

This is really opening my eyes to stuff aside from prints that you don't normally see, even in exhibitions.

No different to the people buying multiple prints only to ebay them the next day IMO.
It's such a fine line between 'gallery' and a 'tout' but just looking at the press article on the site I think it's the sellers driving up the price, not the market demand for prints.
There are loads of us on here that would never sell our prints/originals but to see a gallery sticking a 2000% mark up on prints that may or may not have come from POW a matter of months ago doesn't make me think "I now own prints worth thousands".
There will always be someone somewhere willing to pay large amounts for something and I can't change that but "art investment" sites like that one inflate prices monthly to reassure their customers that they are onto a good thing.
Not sure if my point of view would be different if I could afford to buy 'Gangsta Rat spray paint on electricity meter cover' maybe I should pop in and get some free and impartial advice ;-)

Money No Object Sites, by pastiepie on Feb 19, 2007 2:25:33 GMT 1, ebay has some pretty good stuff if you've never been there before.
I agree with you dma, these days the only thing separating a gallery from a tout is a physical address, + they add VAT to everything. At the moment it is definitely not a buyers market. There are just so many buyers and so little items. As each new print is bought by an investment banker that leaves one less available on the market and it's just going to get to the point where there aren't going to be any Banksy's left to sell.
The economy is pretty strong at the moment, especially the business district in London. Perhaps another stock market crash, as devastating to many as it would be would result in a flooding of the market, or at the very least less deep-pocketed business people in the market.
