Off to NY, by johnas on Mar 21, 2007 0:16:35 GMT 1, I don't know if any of our state side friends have been but I'd also visit the Bitforms gallery. My only interest is an artist called james Paterson who has done album covers for Buck 65 and bits and bobs with Sixtoo (who's a great street artist in his own right). James also runs the Presstube website which is pure genius (although it's under going a refurb at the moment)
James's 'untitled' pieces look familiarly like a certain dan baldwin too

pleasure...
you can buy yes:
Prints IV - IX are available at $6000 each unframed, $7000 framed. Each print is unique.
Original drawings are $1000 each.
Was toying with the idea of getting one of the original drawings myself to replace the cheap poster work of his I have hanging!

Off to NY, by BK83 on Mar 21, 2007 22:59:52 GMT 1, You should definately go for a walk around Soho, LES and East Village. So much streetart around here by every artist you've heard of and never heard of. Really fantastic stuff. Spend a day just walking the streets. it's well worth it.

Off to NY, by bonz on Mar 28, 2007 20:30:27 GMT 1, LES is good, 11 Spring St. still has some good stuff up on it, the Rosa & Sons building right down the block on Elizabeth used to Banksy on it but I think it has been covered up. I live in Williamburg and there is alot of good stuff out here, you can send me a message if you wanna learn more. North 6th is pretty good, but the recent paint splash attacks has messed with it. There is some left over banksy from the picture he started but couldnt finish right around the corner, but it has been kinda tagged over... you may wanna check it out, its one of the figures that was on his N 6th street installation.

Off to NY, by dkla on Mar 28, 2007 23:29:02 GMT 1, Simongoff, I live in the lower east side of Manhattan near where you said you stayed last time you were here (Allen and Stanton). Lots of great stuff in the streets all over this 'hood. Especially lots of Swoon, which is great. Speaking of galleries, Definitely check out Deitch Projects gallery in SOHO.
There's more detail (and other points of interest) in this thread.

Off to NY, by simongoff on Mar 29, 2007 14:06:41 GMT 1, Thanks guys,
I actually went over to the Faile studio yesterday, they have some amazing stuff there, met one of the Patricks then oddly met one of the other Patricks wife sitting next to me in a resturaunt. Had a good look around North 6th Street and saw some lovely stuff, saw the remains of the Banksy, such a waste.
Going back to Faile on Monday to see if I can get any prints, Patrick said they we mental busy, nice guy too.
Staying in Brooklyn this time but will go and re check on LES
Will try and get some pictures posted up.
