New US show on FX Sunday nights at 10pm, it stars the gay brother from 6 feet under as a forensic blood expert/robin hood style serial killer. Pretty dark. Pretty good.

I started watching this when I was working a lot in the US last year...one of those things that I only caught the first few episodes of and it kept me hanging.

So happy to see it here at last, it's one of the few decent US series for me in recent years (what's with so many of them by the way?) How many of them are there now? Which ones are worth the watch and which are bandwagonning? I've managed to limit myself to 24 (not sure how much more mileage this has) and Deadwood.

have to say (quite sadly) Prison Break and Heroes have had me totally hooked!

MrsH read both of the Dexter novels last year and she raved about them both. However, she has reliably informed me that the Dexter series has started at book 2

We've watched the first 2 episodes and have now downloaded the remaining 10 episodes to watch. Personally I find it's a refreshing change to the usual slurry of CSI-esque type

And as for Heroes - I absolutely loved that too - although did anyone else think that the ultimate battle at the end of the last episode between Hiro and Silas was a little disappointing?

aha - yes Ive seen adverts for Dexter.....looks interesting and seeing everyone else is raving about it - I better start watching it I guess.
The thing is - Sky+ is supposed to give free reign to your viewing habits - for me, its become the monkey on my back.

Im concious that Im filling it up with stuff I want to watch, but have no time.

As for Heroes - best thing I've watched this year.....fantastic series.
And I agree - the battle at the end with Silas was a little dissapointing - mainly because mr Uni-Brow has freaked me out throughout the entire series with his brain gobbling activities and I wanted to see him get a right good shoeing.

I've seen the first series of Dexter - brilliant stuff! Well worth a watch, black humour, tense action, US telly at its best.

Looking forward to series 2

No shit! And to think I just spent my holiday borrowing Cornwell books to get my feed of crime suspense. Thanks for the tip MrAitch!

And I'm totally with you on sky+ Dan, problem is, I've now started to record the older stuff I still haven't watched onto DVD and I'm just stockpiling toot.

After two hearty recommendations, I'm going to have to get me some Heroes. Nothing like a superhero fight. ;D
