Signed vs. Unsigned, by lrworld on Jul 23, 2007 0:38:02 GMT 1, I am interested in knowing if now is a good time to purchase signed prints. I am looking at the relationship between signed and unsigned. Right now, it seems that signed prints go for roughly 3-4 times the unsigned prints value. Over the last few years, has this relationship held pretty constant? I am sure that sometimes it could be "cheaper" to purchase signed prints when you look at the prices between both. Any opinions?

Signed vs. Unsigned, by adrscib on Jul 23, 2007 0:42:39 GMT 1, my policy is to buy signed only.. unsigned are just prints which the artist never sees...its more a commercial thiing.. signed have value because apart from the art ppl are willing to pay for his signature.

Signed vs. Unsigned, by pw on Jul 23, 2007 0:49:11 GMT 1, if you want to buy banksy there is no good time because prices are rising continuously, so you shouldn't wait too long. i would expect prices to rise further after the warhol vs banksy show at the hospital, and there are also sothebys auctions in september including a prints auction where theres going to be banksy prints for sale for the first time. previously prices have risen dramatically after high-profile exhibitions and auctions.

just wondering - is it generally expected that the hospital show will push banksy prices up alot?
I'm thinking about buying a couple of pieces but won't have the money for a couple of weeks!
