Good Deed, by bobbyt23 on Jul 30, 2007 21:15:39 GMT 1, I picked up my Eelus wot-u-lookinat from the postie today and to my surprise there were 2 tubes. I hurried home rather confused to see what was going on. It turned out there were two of the same prints.
A little confused I checked I had only ordered one, I did, so I have got in touch with the Bigman to see if there was a mistake
Not sure how it happened but I decided, against the little devil's advice who was perched on my shoulder, to send it back to him to get it out to it's rightful owner.
Good deed done for the day. I'm destined for the new Banksy now!!! It's fate. ;D
It was a strange little event so I thought I would share it with you. However, I think the devil might have won if it had been a Banksy!!

I'll be honest, I definitely questioned it for a second, but ultimately it felt good to do the right thing and send it back.

At SG last year people were going bonkers for Eelus prints (mainly as they could flip them for 4 times the cost on the bay).

It was in the road right by the drivers door of a workmans van... I asked any of the builders if they had mislaid anything when i noticed one go rather pale and confirm he'd lost a tan wallet.
Let's hope that'll help me with my karma / Banksy print stakes

Just shows you the power of being associated with POW!! I also love the image and have also bought a canvas from Eelus but to be fair he was riding a lot on the success of the other artists!
When POW released Morons they also VERY cleverly released the Beautiful Losers run. All those disappointed buyers who weren't lucky enough to basket a Banksy then went on to buy up all of the other print run (which IMO the majority of which was total crap) I think the point is proven by the fact that once all the prints were sold and the reckoning was done they then released the last 5 none of which have sold since!
I bet the next Banksy release will coincide with another huge print run of mediocre artwork, and watch all the flippers/disappointed buyers lap them up!!
DISCLAIMER I appreciate that art is a personal preference and if anyone reading this bought any of the afore mentioned print run because they liked it then respect to you, but I think you know where I am coming from with my comments! I bet POW are delaying the release of the next Banksy while they organise other artwork to release the same day!!

That being said, I own a Beautiful Losers Osama/ET and it is awesome. I bought it way before it was on POW from Iconoclast, but that image just makes me smile every time I see it on the wall. So much love and joy in their expressions, classic.

Nice one mate, you bought it because you liked it, exactly how it should be, most of the prints sold by POW though were bought out of frustration and by POW's very clever marketing ploy! Obviously my own opininion and I have been known to be wrong once or twice a year!! ;D

Didn't personally like those either, absolutely NO point in buying something that you wouldn't hang on your wall, apart from buying a Banksy to trade with another to get the print you really want! Not the way things should be but sadly its the way it is!

Difficult one to answer, I have heard loads of reasons for him leaving POW. The one that rings true is the fact that he is a pretty disorganised person, something that we can all appreciate having purchased art from him!
POW allegedly found the working relationship frustrating and they mutually agreed to part ways?!
Seems to make realistic sense, when all said and done he still has the ability to produce some stunning artwork, just not efficiently thats all!!

Well done bobby, you definitely did the right thing, SOS made a mistake with my order a while ago, after telling them what happened they were happy for me not to make a return, this resulted in me donating a print to charity, a few weeks later a free Dead Che from AMP turned up  ;D.
