Not sure if I am posting on the right board and apologies if I have but....
I have just purchased my first Banksy, and would like to continue collecting them
One subject I have searched for, and am sure has been covered but I've not found, is information or a guide on what to look out for when buying to avoid fake prints.
Any help appreciated

Check that the seller can show you all the transactions for that print going back to the original owner, whose name and address you'll need, then email POW and ask them to confirm that the print number is registered with them to that name and address.
Hopefully get the original email order confirmation
Check the POW stamp (if your print is meant to have one)
Check the numbering is correct.
Check the print and paper size.
Info on all prints here...

There was one reported on this site by a member that had bought it off ebay (from I think, the States) it was a Love Rat I think, and it had a POW stamp too.
It was the paper that gave it away, it had a watermark in it that it shouldn't of had and POW were sent the print and confirmed it wasn't legit.

someone produced a fake grannies a while back.. with a forged laz prov..

It was definitely a fake. I could post pics if anyone was interested. I found the guy off of expressobeans. That A$$ is probably reading this right now....

Notice how black everything is? There is no detail in the pants of the two men. Look at any real Applause and you will know this is a fake. Also the yellow looks terribly wrong.
I first knew it was a fake by looking at the pants of the crouched guy. One is black, the other two below have LOADS of detail.

i was thinking the same as the one you say is fake looks just like my own which came direct from POW.

It could just be a very bad photo taken with a camera phone or something else that can't give a good result, or its a photo of a poor photocopy type reproduction.

And the details in the pants are still very clear. The more I look at the fake, the more I see wrong with it. There is no shadow. The plane looks totally washed out. There are not two distinct colors on the helmet (gray and black stripes). It is very very wrong.

Wow! That looks a whole lot better than the fake!
The real scary thing about the fake is that it was the same size paper, with POW stamp and numbered, and verified by Dora!!!!
