The pros vs the cons..., by peggysue on Aug 12, 2007 17:46:21 GMT 1, If you buy an original piece of art and it's then turned into a screenprint...is that a good thing or bad thing. I'm torn on how I feel about this. On one hand, it kinda loses it's uniqueness as a one of a kind. On the other, the image gets out there to the masses and becomes much more well known.
How do you guys feel about this? I've always been curious to see what others think.

The pros vs the cons..., by wlsp4657 on Aug 12, 2007 17:53:49 GMT 1, I think something like that would be amazing. There is nothing like having an OG, if it becomes a print I think it is that much more special. Not to mention how much the value will skyrocket. If an image gets mass distribution, like a run of lets say 500. The price of your piece will be outrages, because so many people will have the print and crave the OG. How much did the run of the 6 LA paintings Banksy made, which are now prints. They have got to be worth close to six figures at this point. And I assume that they may well be much more valuable then some other OG's which are not so famous.
Personally. I really wouldn't mind, but your right that it loses something even if I can't exactly but my finger on what that is exactly..

The pros vs the cons..., by Photoxtc on Aug 13, 2007 7:10:02 GMT 1, I have an original canvas that prints were made from and I actually liked the fact that other people besides myself could enjoy this piece, kind of flattering in a sense that you own a piece of art that was made into prints...
