Help me PLEASE!, by lesroy on Nov 4, 2006 11:02:55 GMT 1, Morning all,
Please help me...
I recently "won" a Love is in the Air print on eBay... I thought I'd got a real snip at only £920.
However the print still isn't here, the seller made quite alot of contact to start with but has not replied for a week or so now.
He did comment he was moving house and things were a little hectic, and I assume that could be a reason for the email silence if he has no internet.
Anyway, the more I look at his feedback or lackk or it, and also look at what he has bought in the past, the more I'm starting to worry.
What do you lot think, i've never had a problem with eBay before and am probably too honest. The print was supposed to arrrive thursday, friday or today... still no sign.
Anyway here is the link to the sale...
cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=014&item=330040520755&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1
What would you do next and how long would you wait?
Your help is massively appreciated!

Help me PLEASE!, by foundation on Nov 4, 2006 14:55:47 GMT 1, Love is in the air and turfwar are both tagged with a C Banksy tag ( C is the copyright C like the @ symbol) these are the only 2 prints with it. The numbering looks good also. Cant see anything wrong with the images shown. There was some talk on the other forum about this print and the seller at the time, assume your alter-ego on that side was part of or at least privvy to that conversation Lesroy. I would pull the buyers contact details off the completed transaction page and get in touch, at least try another time before starting proceedings through ebay, as you said the seller may be busy, but you are also out of pocket and printless just now, if it was going to be such a hastle for the seller to post it, then maybe they should have waited til after the move. Good luck and keep us posted.

Help me PLEASE!, by lesroy on Nov 9, 2006 22:23:38 GMT 1, I LOVE YOU ALL!!
Just a quick thank you to all you that helped me out with what appeared to be my "missing" Love is In the Air print.
The seller finally sent it after 3 weeks of waiting! I understand he was busy in a house move but a little email to tell me so would've helped!
Anyway thanx to you guys for your pointing in the right direction.
PS.... WOW... this is my favourite print ever!! AMAZING!! Any chance that those of you with this print framed could post a pic, I'd love to get an idea of whatstyle of framing / mounting I prefer!
Cheers again!!

Help me PLEASE!, by thwaites on Nov 11, 2006 12:11:42 GMT 1, Def use mount, looks ace and helps to protect the print by lifting off the glass. I think use white mount and a white frame, that is what i used for my grannies and it looks great, really directs your eye to the print.

Help me PLEASE!, by lesroy on Nov 11, 2006 12:18:46 GMT 1, Cheers guys,
Im aware of keeping it away from the glass, I have always got the framers to use Archival "fillets" but I wanted this print to be used with some mount I think to make the whole piece bigger and give it a bigger border...
I like the idea of both the black large border and also the white box frame you all came up with...

Help me PLEASE!, by thwaites on Nov 11, 2006 12:22:21 GMT 1, I don't think a slip is always needed, mount is usually sufficient, especially if you have it double mounted, which always looks really good. Also if you use conservation quality glass, which is uv filtering no harm should come to the print.. although it is a hell of a lot more expensive.. but worth it in the long run.

My framer also told me to consider using UV filtering plexiglas because it's inert. Even if the print is in direct contact with it, you don't have to worry about the ink sticking to the it and things like that. Is it true?

Help me PLEASE!, by thwaites on Nov 11, 2006 21:15:34 GMT 1, I have only recently begun framing myself, but i believe that if you use the conservation glass no harm should come to the print in any way, although i will always use a mount as well, can't hurt really! I couldn't really afford the extra £30 it cost to use the UV filtering glass but I am glad I did as I can let the sunlight pour in on my lovely grannies all day long and not worry bout them melting!

Help me PLEASE!, by lesroy on Nov 12, 2006 11:43:42 GMT 1, thwaites... you're part right. UV glass will help but "direct" sunlight will fuck your print up quick-smart... the sun is just too damn powerful for direct contact and your print WILL fade.
