Japanese Banksy Sellers?, by lesroy on Sept 9, 2006 8:27:20 GMT 1, Guys,
This is meant in the best possible way, but I have a bad feeling of buying any Banksy Prints from Japan as there seem to be soo many copies going for little money.
I have just found a napalm on eBay with no bids 2 days to go. The seller seems to have sold Banky's in the past though.
What do you lot think of this print? Genuine or not?
cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=019&item=290027618333&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 Please help me out.
Regards,
Nick

Japanese Banksy Sellers?, by Count Jedi on Sept 9, 2006 14:39:26 GMT 1, Looking at the stamp on the CND & napalm I would think that POW would use the "Pictures on walls dot com" stamp & not the old stamp "POW Printmaking", but I'm not an expert.

Japanese Banksy Sellers?, by mido on Sept 11, 2006 0:31:29 GMT 1, other way around. POW printmaking is the new stamp. napalm was on sale for so long, some with have one stamp and some will have the other.
people seem to be getting ridiculously paranoid.
how more kosher can a print be than to have an embossed stamp, with correct looking numbering? The only other 2 things that would help are, 1 - them giving you a copy of the confirmation of purchases, 2 - you knowing the sellers name and addresss and checking with POW that they bought it off them.
of course any seller can defraud someone (e.g. stolen/wrong/altered photos of an item, not sending the item) but in general if a seller adverstises a print that is in all obvious respects looks fine, why so cautious?

Japanese Banksy Sellers?, by retep on Sept 11, 2006 1:17:39 GMT 1, print may be good, but after you buy it you also have to pay 17.5% import tax.
never mind having to worry about it turning up in one piece - I've had tubes/prints damaged in the post before, and thats just from getting sent across england, not half way round the world...

Japanese Banksy Sellers?, by poofly on Sept 13, 2006 13:42:56 GMT 1, All damages and fake items are covered by ebay buyer protection. It is the responsibilty of the seller to make sure it arrives in one piece, if not you can claim back through paypal. same goes for fake items. If you can priove its fake, look forward to getting your money back. might cost you postage but hey thats better than having a fake.
I'm not an expert on this subject but i have had dealings with fake items before (namely some proper dodgy sony headphones from uzbekestan or somewhere weird) so please don't quote me. Go and check ebay policy but i'm sure you are protected supremely as a buyer. Paypal helps things as well as its all linked with ebay.
Let me know if I made this up in my sleep last night....
