After some ferreting around and with the help of some other ebayers we've managed to trace this painting back to source. The canvas has done a few miles over the last year, including a visit to Japan !
It originated from a known fake seller in Norfolk who is currently abroad spending the hard earned cash of buyers who have since realised they've been sold a wrong un. Laz has confirmed to one buyer that his canvas is fake.

I used to own one of these and sadly sold it for ยฃ500 to pay my rent . . . that is painful as it was a great piece.
However this looks fake to me. Signature doesn't look real, the numbers look very untidy and the image just seems a little diff. Very easy to bash these out on cavas for ยฃ5 so I'm not suprised that someone has tried to fake it.
