JAPANESE FAKES, by policeaware on May 22, 2006 17:21:14 GMT 1,
This website seller has also been associated with the listing of fake Banksy items on ebay including an HRH canvas.
On ebay he goes by the name of beautiful_losers. I have invited him to the ebay forum on many occasions but after registering he's never passed comment.

JAPANESE FAKES, by policeaware on May 23, 2006 9:37:46 GMT 1, He may sell some legit prints but he has definitely tried to sell forged canvases and unnumbered prints in the past.
I have invited him to the ebay Banksy forum on numerous occasions and even though he did eventually join he never responded to any of the questions about his canvases.

JAPANESE FAKES, by matilda on Jun 12, 2006 23:13:54 GMT 1, ask for photos of pow stamp and number, check with the good folks at pow, tell the seller you will do so, should sort out the frauds...as police says, they hardly EVER reply...or give weak attempts at sidestepping specific questions...Good luck!

Isn't the stamp in the wrong corner, too, or do they come both ways? Besides, that looks a little weak and irregular of an imprint. Mine is in the left corner, not the right.
Funny he would pick that print to fake instead of the more sought-after and valuable prints.

JAPANESE FAKES, by mido on Jun 20, 2006 15:43:00 GMT 1, Napalm only recently sold out so there should be copies with both the old and new POW stamps on them.
In fact, dare I help Beautiful losers out, but the one for sale is perfectly logical. later numbers would usually have the new stamp on it.
Bottom line is that unless it has actually been 'stolen' from someone, any POW stamped print is likely to be good. That's one reason for the stamp I presume.
You can always check the POW database if in doubt....

JAPANESE FAKES, by mido on Jun 20, 2006 15:47:35 GMT 1, I think people are getting a tiny bit paranoid now!
Prints can be stamped in either corner (there is no rule), and sometimes are bolder or lighter depending on how tired or fit the POW staff are. Dark prints (e.g. grin reaper) generally also need a more careful stamping or it can look a bit cruddy.
I think we should be spending our time routing out real fakes (especiall canvases), fake signatures etc. The chances of anyone faking the POW stamp are pretty slim in my hunble opinion.

JAPANESE FAKES, by mido on Jun 20, 2006 16:14:10 GMT 1, you do whatever you want, but there is nothing obviously wrong with these prints (there have apparently been issues over canvases from this seller before). It's not as if they are advertising number x in the written section, but show a photo of number y, or selling the same numbered print twice.
for the more recent ones you could ask them for a copy of the email order confirmation they should have, and you couldalso check the POW database to see who bought them originally

These look the same as my 2 originals.

JAPANESE FAKES, by aishlingmaria on Jun 20, 2006 18:16:17 GMT 1, P.O.W are the only guys with the answers ,we are just pissing in the wind. The question really is how many of these are going up for sale in the future from the same source? Two C.N.Ds and two ,Love is in the air, have already been put up on ebay by this seller . The man is a modern day hero if he has bought 10 of each of banksys prints and is willing to sell them at lower prices than others have already been sold for. Love is in the air sold for £277.16 ,I think we may have a modern day Robin Hood in our midst, I take it all back. P.O.W we need your help!!!!

I hear what you're all saying and I have no idea if they are real or fake, but, the stamps that are used by POW can easily by duplicated, just as a screen print can, and a signiture. If someone has a way to do all these things, and has the knowledge of the numbering position etc, it is not that hard to rip one off. Scary but true

JAPANESE FAKES, by policeaware on Jun 20, 2006 18:56:49 GMT 1, Just to add to previous comments about this seller.
He did have fake canvases for sale earlier this year, these canvases are also shown on his website. Following this many ebayers including myself were very suspicious of his items and assumed he was in business to rip people off. He has also been known to sell unnumbered prints which could have come out the back door of the printers (not POW).
It turns out that he bought all the canvases from a UK seller in good faith and may not know or believe they weren't the real deal. The recent Heavy Weaponry canvas was one of the canvases he originally bought and then sold to a UK buyer who then listed it.
There is no indication in his feedback to suggest he is untrustworthy and like most previous posters have said the prints are stamped and numbered & if he has proof of purchase shouldn't be a concern.
