So a print cant include any hand touching ? I guess thats the only way you can get around this problem, Just a simple reproduction of an originlal piece of art. I've no idea why people are into prints these days when you can get the real thing, more often than not, for around the same price, for something just as good. They offer a terrible investent opportunity bar banksy and the artist may never have even touched them and they cost a fortune to frame, total waste of time. Give me a canvas any day of the week, one nail, straight on to the wall. Sweet.

I think, especially in light of the recent tryptich reease, that it stands out from his body of previously printed work, as it demonstrates his ability as a fine artist, while retaining excellently the Choe "dirtiness" when you look up close!
(plus the thread needed a bump) ;D

2nd goes to Eelus - Raven Haired. Beautiful

Hands down, total winner. So much buzz when it came out, and has been used by Obama/CNN just about everyone as a symbol of his campaign. Wish i bought one, when people on this forum were fighting over them.
Got to be, Art reflecting life at its best. Peace K

I agree except it will go down in history as one of the most iconic presidential images in history. It will be written about in books and history books through-out generations to come. Shepard prob had no idea how much this would blow up! pretty amazing. cant wait to try and get the VICTORY print! so far I've had the opportunity to get them all except the 1st progress.

* PRINT 2008 *, by raiden on Dec 1, 2008 6:47:46 GMT 1, If we say print of the year goes to 'Raven Haired' over Shep's 'Obama' I can't in good conscience take this board seriously any longer.
So I must lobby others to put in their vote for Shep's 'Obama.'
I get it that more people own 'Raven Haired' and I get that its aesthetically awesome - hence the reason I bought both the print and an Eelus canvas from Electrik Sheep... but seriously...
Shep's print affected the outcome of a US election. Was THE FIRST Obama print. Only after did a billion copy cat renditions from everyone else come out. Plus, it appreciated faster than any print in the history of man possibly. $50 to $5000 in less than a year. I think this is a hands down decision - you might not love the print, but there isn't any other print that should be 2008 winner.
If Eelus wins, it would be sort of the equivalent of the 2007 Grammys, where Herbie Hancock won with his really amazing, technically perfect album over Kayne West, Amy Winehouse, & Foo Fighters. Are both Herbie Hancock's album and Eelus' 'Raven Haired' artistically beautiful and technically more of a triumph than the analogous Kayne West record and Shepard Fairey's 'Obama' prints - probably. Did the Grammy's f**k up by not giving it to Kayne, who sold a billion more records than Herbie and produced one of the top hip hop albums of all time - absolutely.
Sorry to diverge from the "no commentary" - but this borders on travesty.

So Obama won the popular vote by 7 millions because of a poster?
This thread is about the best print not the most influential.
Don't get me wrong I'm a Obama supporter but he is only a politician and in two years when the hype is gone and the big recession is in full swing people wont have this on their wall.

By your logic the Oscar should also go to most popular movie, and the Nobel prize for literature to JK Rowling.
