£9800 for barcode!, by johnerotten on May 10, 2007 16:34:01 GMT 1, how do printer's proofs leave the printer's office?
these prices seem crazy. if i had 20k i wouldn't roll the dice on one of those printer's proofs but if i had a mill in the bank i would. hmmmmmmmn.

£9800 for barcode!, by pw on May 10, 2007 19:17:41 GMT 1, I posted this late last night but got no replies (maybe cos I was the only person online!), but I thought I'd try again cos I think its quite relevant especially given the current debate about banksy prices:
does anyone here follow the prices of other contemporary artists such as Warhol, Basquiat, Hirst etc? it would be interesting to know how the prices of signed Banksy prints compares to these artists. As far as I know, banksy prices are fast approaching the prices of these artists, and I ask myself, is this justified and/or sustainable??

£9800 for barcode!, by Strange Al on May 10, 2007 21:45:55 GMT 1,
I hadn't previously noticed that the seller of this print is selling a full set of LA printer's proofs and they're all at silly prices with days to go. This thread has been running for a while now and I think there's little else to say on either prices or proofs. But it is simply obscene!

If my recollection is correct, these may be the ones that sold as a complete set in October for about US$15,000.
