The Photography thread, by Ejan Dalal Hahn on Apr 7, 2012 15:33:55 GMT 1, Hi Brushstrokes Well I'll leave the 'What' to your imagination you can probably figure it out They are shot in a studio and reference landscape in their composition. I suppose one could describe them as foreign/alien Sci-fi abstract landscapes. I'm interested in the way we see things, how we decode the world around us. How everything we look at is loaded (from past experience of looking and the emotional context of the situation). No object, person place is neutral. In this way. So I suppose this work sets out to question the way we see, by deliberately creating ambiguous imagery. What is the scale? What are we looking at? Is it real? How do I make sense of it? It’s a bit like asking is there universal truth? Or are multiple individual truths? (obviously there are both (existing concurrently with one another) but not going into that one!) Most of my work is film, overlaid with narrative. The middle photo is a depiction of a molecular lattice, surrounded by space. So it’s a juxtaposition between the minuscule and the infinite, etc etc, set against a story, roughly inspired by one in the press. I’ll stop waffling otherwise could go on indefinitely! Hope this makes some sort of sense. Thanks for compliments

The Photography thread, by megaelch on Apr 19, 2012 11:42:08 GMT 1, may i point your interest to www.lumas.de a photo gallery featuring young as well as established photographers and some classics in larger editions and various sizes... located in germany ... if they do not sell outside of germany you can use me as a proxy...
you need to be a little bit more specific what you are looking for .. in germany the Düsseldorf school with Bernd and Hilla Becher and their students Thomas Ruff, Struth and most famous Andreas Gursky is in the focus of collectors for quite some time ... Ruff and Becher photos are around on ebay germany ... large show in the Haus der Kunst in munich for Thomas Ruff going on right now ...

The Photography thread, by graffoto on Jun 11, 2012 7:04:28 GMT 1, I have been very happy with my 20x200 prints - as to collectability the big names will always go up in value - lots of photographers issue archival inkjets these days
vincent Borelli - regularly sells best prints on secondary

The photo was taken on the Newcastle Quayside then I added a "Sweet toof" sticker to complete .. for a good cause ... (SOLD with Thanks , money donated to peoples kitchen )
