I imagine that once you've brought your beloved print you will never been seen on here again. Get out on the street, put the work in- go do your research, find out all you can. (Take a trip to Dalston, Highbury, Hoxton, Bristol, Croydon, New Orleans, West Bank, Timbuktoo) Do it all, and then come back and tell us why you want the print. haha please no more of west bank my missus already took me there we stayed in maale adumim but because of some thing going of with barrack obama wanting to stop any more settelment zones beign built in the westbank so emotions were running a little high amoungst arabs jews and muslims which made travel in the west bank a bit dodgy well it was some thing along them lines

me personally dont give a damn about art, ballet,opera and classical music my wife wants his stuff and likes it and i am just wanting info for my own piece of mind

and you probably correct i may well not be on this site if i get the info needed as i would rather be organising my core business and you lot can chat to the wife i will give me a break from her and banksy!

then on the other hand if banksy pictures gonna make me considerable more money over the next 10-15years for just buying his drawings or what ever you want to call it ........I will be back ;D

yeah, i wouldn't put much weight into unhelpful posts such as this. looking up the websites and asking questions is exactly what most people would do learning about something. There is nothing wrong about checking into your wife's spending habits

Hopefully in doing this, it will open your own eyes in addition to your wife's and you can enjoy the art as well.

right this print number thing is starting pee me off!!

there is a banksy laugh now on ebay for 12k , it looks like the owner has rubbed the print number out Why! i have seen a few prints and have emailed some owners to ask what the print number is ,told it shall be revealed to winning bidder??? i will not buy fuk all from someone that is holding back info .....can someone tell me why this print number on some prints are blanked out / rubbed out /covered over ?

could it be something to do with them being a registered owner and therefore not wanting to give out their name to anyone but the winning bidder? I'm actually not sure if you can just ring a gallery and ask for the registered owner of print no. but if you can...

artists using ebay may do it so the bidder doesnt think they are bidding on a specific numbered print, rather just one of the edition.

i know not all of you guys are banksy fans but there are lot that are , so for the intrested ......... where do you think banksy as an artist is at at the moment ? can he pull some more magic out of the hat !?! or is the general feeling that may be its the end of an era ,that we should congratulate banksy on helping other street art / graffiti artists in this country beign taken more seriously in the future ? i hope he still got some more to offer purely from a selfish point as i just want to buy his stuff wrap it up and sit on it for a few years and if im lucky make a shit load of doe ....but if he is a 1 trick pony i will be pissed off but im game i understand that im taking a gamble here i think .

Interesting . Do you honestly think that there is an answer to that question? Buying art as an investment is incredibly difficult, especially at this end of the market, so the advice most on here would give you is to buy it with the view that it will be worth jacksh*t in 10 years time. If you can't afford to lose the silly amount of money you're about to spend on your first print, and knowing as little as you do about art and the art market, then I would advice you to think long and hard about doing so. If you can afford to lose £9k, but love the image, then go ahead buy it and enjoy it on your wall, but don't be so naive as to ask whether you can make sh*t loads of money from buying a few prints at £5k+ as you're right, it's one hell of a gamble.

I don't wish to have a go, and I'm not by the way, merely offering my opinion. There plenty of people on here who will suggest that Banksy is the next big thing (largely because they hope for the same thing) ... there's far more people out there who would say the opposite and would advise heavily against spending £9k on a print...

I think i agree with hlarmy, don't buy unless you like a print! Investing in art is super risky, and only if you bought something you really like will you always be satisfied, whatever happens. Don't buy thinking you'll make shit loads as most likely you won't.

Signed £6k - £7k sounds about right to me (although often I am wrong ) I am sure there was an unsigned on here six months ago or so below £2k. Should have bought it then, but had just splashed out on a number of pieces and was trying to be sensible!

I moved my collection away from unsigned prints, so that went towards buying signed prints.

That one at hang up sold fast after the mention. I picked an unsigned liita up recently, will never sell it. Most iconic Banksy image there is if you ask me. I wouldn't mind having a signed liita, but I can't justify parting with about $10,000 additional to have the same exact print just with a signature.
