Don't want to rain on your parade but whenever I see things on ebay at a price so high I won't even bother to make an offer. Understand you wanting to get the most you can for it but I think it may turn people off. A signed one sold for about £6k at drewatts last winter, I was bidding on it, been a bunch of unsigned in the 1.5-2 range since.

hey peeps...blimey been a while since i was on here.. i have an artist proof in full glorious red black and white of LIITA. The job centre is talkng its toll and im thinking hard about parting ways. its the most classic Banksy image of all time (whether or not it is the most loved, i leave to you guys to discuss in depth!)... but this is signed, one of i think 5 copies from 2003.. and prob off to auction sadly. however if there is a gentleperson that wants this enough to talk outside of the confines of ebay, drop me a note. or any advice for a long standing novice, always welcome

Common sense tells me that if I was selling such a rare print I would upload plenty of pictures on here for all to see. I think that would whet interested and serious purchasers appetite greatly. You wouldn't buy a car without seeing it first would you!

Hi all

I am new to art ,in need of some advice.
My wife has been banging on about this guy called banksy!, that we should start to collect his work. I have finally decided to listen to my other half and look at some pieces, i am warming to it but my problem is with "love in air" .
My wife has rang about and found a print for sale and she wants it! , i ain't to sure about spending as neither of us have experience at this kinda thing.

Could some one please shed some more light on this bit of art for me!
we have been told that this print is signed and is a low number 18 to be exact .....(low = number 1 in my head!! ) is 18 considered low?

second problem i have is... my wife was told that it originally was not signed but then later it was signed by banksey! Why not sign it in the 1st instance?

my next problem is i see these prints for sale at £4000ish however my wife seems to have a knack of finding the same print for lots more than 4k . why ?
apparently all the authenticity appears to be in order. does this ring true to any body?

My wife has already hung this on the wall and is looking for the next banksy print any advice would be greatly appreciated , i am sh1tting myself shes obsessed !!

i assume when i am told signed! it would be signed by this banksey fella seeing as its supposedly done by banksey..is this not correct??? as far as authenticity goes its done by pow.

Where do you see signed LIITAs on sale for £4k? They usually go for double that.

The main thing is you need to know its authentic. You want a signed COA from POW and/or other proper provenance. Hope you got that from the seller!

if you are intending to spend that much (4k or more) on art, make sure it is genuine. Ask the one who has this beauty for sale to get provenance, Robo already gave you the link for that.

Then you have to make absolutely sure this print is in mint, prestine, solid, perfect condition.

when this is all ok.. you could eventually buy the print..

You are in real trouble if it is signed Banksey, rather than Banksy

Good advice above, don't spend a penny until you know it's authentic (by way of a COA from Pest Control / POW). Make sure it is mint condition, and if it is framed that it has been done by a professional framer. Are you buying from a gallery or a personal collector?

My personal advice is not to rush into this; spend a few weeks researching this guy Banksy, his print releases and his work and if you like what you see and are happy to spend £4k on a piece of art, then go for it. Good luck

the print if i go ahead will be costing around 9k , i heed the advice on research on banksy work and to be fair the missus has flirted with him for a few years now whilst i dismissed any idea of spending our saving on pictures of any sorts and now im starting to feel a little silly however if this print is what it is meant to be with all you guys having some much knowledge in this field would 9k be a fair price or not ?
