Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by samfrost on Sept 20, 2020 12:39:52 GMT 1, One result doesnt make a market, but it certainly shifts pricing anchors. Next few auction results will be interesting, coupled with the owners doing a gut check on their nice pieces of paper. It felt like 2020 already had a record amount of Banksy prints at auction...rest of 2020-2021 will be interesting if it follows suit in volume and prices.

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by Graham H on Sept 20, 2020 16:13:30 GMT 1, The next 6 - 9 months will see auctions rammed full with Banksy prints..
The figures now will make a big difference to peoples lives ..with mortgage paying amounts, and for people who bought for pleasure rather than investment over the years ..the world being such a f*cked up place over the last 6 months and who knows what to come, will surely make people reevaluate life and the prices of pieces of paper.. and cash out.. I for one dont blame them.. but i do think may have an effect on the market for a period.
I know its been said many time on here that this forum isnt a market driver.. but just looking at the amount of prints put up for sale since Thursday shows where peoples thoughts appear to be. By my count its in double figures.. this time a month ago, pieces were one every blue moon
Just an opinion .. and not based on anything other than what i think

I agree - lots more sales if the last 48 hours are anything to go by 11(!!) for sale on the forum.
May soften prices slightly if everyone is selling but in long run probably won’t affect.
Is everyone gonna get Sotheby’s prices from forum? Probably not. Lets see how long/if they sell.

I suspect short term more will come on to the market, but in the longer term this makes supply even more limited. Having sold one v recently and fairly, I am actually less inclined now to sell others I have from way, way back than I was. The rises are making me think hold, rather than cash in.

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by Graham H on Sept 20, 2020 16:28:14 GMT 1, The buyers now though will be totally different..much talk about Asia etc.. but wherever they are from, the amounts now even for the lower end images are out of ' normal ' collectors price brackets.. so the market will become the arena of investors.. rather than collectors...so the dynamics by default will naturally change

It has all changed. It seems v strange to say it, but in 2005 I could only afford one or two from pow - to me at the time £150 for a signed ‘poster’ was a lot of money - but I liked the art.

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by artforartssake on Oct 29, 2020 12:33:06 GMT 1, My annual sales thread, one (and only one) of these babies is going to be heading to a new home.
I’ve had my fair share of conversations with galleries over the last few weeks so know the regions I’m aiming for as stated below. The sale that gets me the best value in my eyes is the one that will go through.
Option 1
LIITA Signed COA in hand, owned since 2008 and provenance documentation from prior owner.
Excellent condition. Currently unframed.
May be open to a px here (Festival, Happy Choppers, Rude Copper or CWSB). Looking at well clear of £300k here be of interest.
Condition report from Caroline Harrison in hand which will be sent with pictures to serious bidders in due course.
Option 2
Gangsta Rat (Red) Signed, COA in hand. Owned since new, purchased at Santa's Ghetto December 2005 with original receipt (yup, £150!)
Excellent Condition, currently unframed.
Condition report from Caroline Harrison in hand which will be sent with pictures to serious bidders in due course.
Price of interest over £100k
Option 3
Colour Trollies (signed obv) COA in hand. Owned since new so all original provenance/email documentation to hand (I think I still have the original tube too in the loft).
Framed to conservation standards by MFM. Pictures to serious bidders in due course.
Price of interest around £50k
Geography wise, I'm based on the Devon/Cornwall border but am willing to travel. Would prefer UK, face to face dealings with direct bank transfer at point of sale and deposits if I'm travelling. References/ID will be required to complete a sale.
Lots of previous dealings with many forum members over the near 15 years this site has been running.
I'm not going to be rushed into making a sale-choice, going to give this a few days of air for people to see before starting to reply to serious conversations Sunday/early next week. Bottom feeders/spivs will be ignored.
Thanks for looking. Take your time before messaging.

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by Graham H on Oct 29, 2020 15:20:34 GMT 1, What a great sales thread.. hopefully these life changing amounts will lead to life changing things
Can only imagine how it feels to have bought a piece for £150..enjoyed it for 15 years.. then sell it for nearly 700 times what you paid for it
Best of luck with the mail box filling up and hopefully you do get one or all of them away with as little hassle as possible

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by alvington89 on Oct 29, 2020 20:07:19 GMT 1, Back in the day, I thought about upgrading my unsigned Gangsta Rat for a signed. I paid £ 450.00 for the Rat and saw a signed one for sale just afterwards for £ 1,350.00. After consideration, I determined that £ 1,350.00 was a ridiculous price for a print and started buying 2 stroke motorcycles instead.

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by mrblast on Nov 5, 2020 8:09:09 GMT 1, mines going on if it sells for that! Hang up were asking for GBP 190k for the unsigned they had recently.
Don't know how much it sold for but it's off the site now....

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by therivler1 on Nov 18, 2020 15:30:09 GMT 1, I always thought it was 100 signed as that is what everything says online.
Christies has the AP coming up and they say this: www.christies.com/lotfinder/paintings/banksy-love-is-in-the-air-6299753-details.aspx?from=searchresults&intObjectID=6299753
"Executed in 2003. This work is one of twenty-seven signed artist's proofs, aside from the edition of five hundred of which only the first fifty were signed, and is accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity from Pest Control."
I sent them an email asking to clarify if that had been confirmed with PC. Can anyone here definitively say if 50 or 100 were signed?
