Banksy • Barcode Print, by mrizzle on Jan 17, 2016 14:52:52 GMT 1, Nailed it as far as the location goes dotdot! What was the giveaway?! I know that I'll regret selling it but sadly my hand is going to be forced. Interested to hear that about sending it to them particularly. My initial enquired about mailing it suggested that the price of insurance was going to be way in excess of that so perhaps I should look at that again.
Yeah, hubblebubble, I suspect that you're right and that perhaps I should do that. It would be an interesting trip if nothing else.
Perhaps thankfully I'm not employed in the oil and gas sector. It's a horrible situation for a great many up here in that field and no sign of it improving any time soon either! The knock on effect to the city is going to be dramatic.
Thanks to the others for their valuations and welcomes! ??

Pest Control don't always require you to send it to them. If you are the original owner they will have a record of that and may well just approve the COA. If you have to send it they will probably say you have to use their courier because they don't disclose their address. In London they use Flight Logistics who charge £17.50 + VAT

Banksy • Barcode Print, by mrizzle on Jan 17, 2016 17:20:09 GMT 1, I initially submitted an online request and then had extended email exchanges with PC about it in March 2013 but they requested that they have to see it in person because it is not registered in my name. It was bought for me by my brother so that is no surprise to me and I did advise them of this and provide his name. Perhaps what I actually need to do is ask him to do it for me.
Mohave things changed since then because the lady who I had an email exchange with provided me with a London address in order to make a 1 hour appointment for verification. Perhaps I should contact them again regarding this.

Just follow the application for COA link on their website, supply as much detail as you can including pics of the print and close up pics of the number and you might b pleasantly surprised !

After all the recently highlighted mishaps of these rental sites , a quick Google search would list pros and cons .
Too easy to make a false insurance claim which this could be

Banksy • Barcode Print, by Deleted on Feb 3, 2016 19:15:00 GMT 1, They've kept the original print, but allowed a WCP copy to be stolen. That way they claim the insurance money, but get to keep the real one, which can then be sold at a later date, complete with COA.
As long as PC aren't informed ( and who would do that ) they get away with it.
The old switcheroo...

After all the recently highlighted mishaps of these rental sites , a quick Google search would list pros and cons . Too easy to make a false insurance claim which this could be Yes, this sounds bogus to me I have Airbnb'd my Brooklyn place for months now with only a $14 bird book and a $20 Lennon statue taken, which I considered the cost of doing business. It is very easy to vet on Airbnb, most won't rent to someone who has never rented (both ways, owner and prospective tenant). How'd these youngsters get such an expensive flat? Seems like a staged scam. Never did it before, tried it and rented to lunatics and their only valuable item taken?
Ironically, it smells like a rat. Ha ha.

Banksy • Barcode Print, by stillborncrisps on Feb 4, 2016 0:48:16 GMT 1, I think you're all being harsh. This could easily be innocent.
If you own a £1m flat, pulling an insurance scam for a 'mere' £8k hardly seems worth the risk.
They'd also be pretty dumb going to the press over it if it was an insurance job.
I think these guys just put too much trust in AirBnB's vetting policy and are now paying the price.

You'll be surprised that some people still cheat insurance policies that seem financially secure ,not saying this is the case here , but happens
But the way you read the article , guy is 27 when purchased the £1 million flat , so would say is astute from a young age , and would say social media aware , a lot of Airbnb mishaps to review online plus not even thinking it would be stolen I would be worried if it was knocked and damaged , sometimes more to these stories.

Have to say I agree with you. Why on earth would you go to the daily mail if you were doing insurance fraud!

Banksy • Barcode Print, by Sliding on the Walls on Feb 4, 2016 21:54:24 GMT 1, This sucks. I'm guessing that these guys read the scare stories about Airbnb and made the decision to give humanity the benefit of the doubt. He's used the site before as a visitor himself, and sadly for them they let it out to an opportunist thief.
He should be straight onto Pest Control with the number of that print.
It will be covered on his home insurance AND air bnb's insurance also.

Would you really leave valuables lying around with a complete stranger staying in your house and then leaving while you are not there.
