Indeed the hard part is getting someone to sell you a Banksy print especially the iconic images, Laugh Now, LITTA, GWRB. There aren't too many willing sellers since, prices seem to rise every week. I seed a few forced sellers here and there who reluctantly need to sell. Another issue is condition especially with the early prints, as a lot of them were abused, put in Ikea frames, blue tack, pinned to the wall. Trying to find a mint unframed early Banksy is becoming increasingly difficult and when they are available the seller asks for a premium. Personally I'd only buy one in mint condition and would prefer to pay more for it.

I have liked ^^^ as its pretty much straight info and if you are looking for investment, then yes- but expect to pay £££. realistically , a few dings and corner wear may allow you to get one at a better price- if it is the image you want, not the investment. Saying that, you need to find them first

Also lets not forget there are also back door prints at a fraction of the cost, obviously not a good investment since the seller and the buyer both have to believe its an original backdoor print for an exchange to take place. But then again, you looking at paying only 10-20% of an unsigned print and you have the image you want.

as someone who has spent half his shit enscrusted life in the markets and a scowling bear to boot, I am getting the feeling that the warhol sale this week may be up there with the record breaking Hirst sale of few years ago.flat volatility, silly money being spunked on art and property whislt its is available - I woiuld hold your fire if you are considering making a big Purchase. Its only a bit of paper with some ink on it after all

I cant say that mate, but on a personal level, I am not making any major financial commitments for the forseaable ( doesnt help that I was made redundant last month)- I look at the art market as a barometer of the bigger economy to be honest and art booms have always been followed by economic woes in recent history ( this terribly simplistic I realise ). only buy what you can afford to write off, otherwise it will tear you apart
