Banksy • Napalm Print, by mido on Feb 15, 2006 22:43:32 GMT 1, Not everyones cup of tea this one, but when you see it for real its a great print. Good detail in the picture and looks fab framed up Its the sort of print that really gets people talking about its meaning.
hi all,
FYI - My print of this came today - no 260 odd from 500. so maybe 240 left?
I agree with you about the idea / meaning - that's why I like it. a brilliant idea.
but I disagree about the print. It could have been done by a child from 3 low res photos stolen form the internet. very disappointing in that respect. Very little effort seems to have gone into it.

sorry folks, others have said the prints don't necessarily get done in order, so we can't assume there are xxx left....

Banksy • Napalm Print, by Daniel Silk on Feb 17, 2006 20:16:44 GMT 1, Its grown on me a bit this one so I ordered one and it came today
Mine is one of the coloured ones that seems to have been mixed into the main run. The clothes are more yellow than the standard prints.
Also I have noticed mine does not have the BANKSY logo in the corner? does yours?

No 'Banksy' tag either, which is a shame.
Added by Admin - Yeah, mine is Mustardy yellow clothes, but I have seen some with grey clothes.

Banksy • Napalm Print, by Ripper1331 on Feb 12, 2007 8:48:23 GMT 1, HI - I'm new to boards and for my first post I'm digging up an old thread.
I have the signed Napalm print that I bought from POW in 2004 but mine has both the signature and the stamp on the right hand side. Also when seeing this print come up on ebay I see some of them with lower numbers than mine, 113/150, signed in 2005. Were there 2 different runs of this print?
Thanks for any info.

Banksy • Napalm Print, by pastiepie on Feb 13, 2007 5:33:35 GMT 1, Before Banksy sold out in literally minutes they used to number / sign prints as they were bought. POW are notorious for being inconsistent with pen/pencil signing and left/right hand sides for stamps / signatures. Nothing at all to be concerned about.

Banksy • Napalm Print, by gbh on Apr 15, 2007 0:31:03 GMT 1, I've just been offered a second chance on a napalm at a fair price. Looks to be a legit second chance offer as it's via ebay.

any thoughts? looks straight to me.

Banksy • Napalm Print, by tomhills1 on Apr 15, 2007 13:24:13 GMT 1, if you're positively minded you could say that maybe the others were offered it first but declined the offer for whatever reason. if you're cautiously minded you must question why they turned it down. going by the photos i would say all is as it should be, and maybe they really do want a very quick sale hence the amazing price. i do wonder that if they put it up ont the bay, they could sell it for that, if not more, in a minute.
in theory, at that price, if you were to pay via paypal you would be covered up £500 assuming they are verified so you could take a gamble. i hope it is a bargain but there is a saying, if it looks too good to be true then it probably is.
go with your natural instincts would be my advice, for what it's worth! good luck.

Banksy • Napalm Print, by tomhills1 on Apr 15, 2007 13:25:49 GMT 1, also, i would have thought any second chance offer could only have come from the actual seller. you just have to be sure that they themselves are legit.

That is certainly not the case. I would advise great caution with Second Chance Offers, and ensure I was dealing with people face-to-face.
There was a huge number of scams going on last year. Losing bidders were being contacted left, right and centre with bogus Second Chance Offers and requests that payment be made to random (often hijacked) PayPal accounts.
This was one of the main reasons eBay changed the bidding history system - so that others could no longer see the identity of non-winning bidders. In the process, eBay regrettably made shill bidding much easier for unscrupulous sellers. [However, eBay doesn't really care about that unless it becomes a very publicly-voiced concern, and the loss of confidence in the eBay system starts to affect eBay's share price. Shill bidding pushes up the final value of items, meaning larger fees for eBay.]
It is still possible for fraudsters to send Second Chance Offers through the eBay system if a seller's account has been hijacked. This is not an uncommon occurrence. Beware.

Banksy • Napalm Print, by tomhills1 on Apr 15, 2007 20:52:23 GMT 1, agreed, what i meant was that it was a lot less likely to be dubious than it was pre-the change in seeing bidders ID.
the point to consider, and it was one i overlooked, is that if the account has been hijacked it could look to all intents and purposes that it is legit but is really yet another scam. i think that is what happened in this instance.
i think you did the right thing GBH by voicing your concerns here, in the time it took for you to consider the offer, luckily it was withdrawn. not everyone will be so lucky.
ignore what i said and consider that even though it may come through ebay, it could still be dodgy. if it looks too good, it is because it is.

The only potentially legit second chance offers will be on the ebay site itself and even then you have to be careful.
