Steven Colbert / Obey / Serrano / Stella portrait, by surfnsnow on Feb 5, 2011 0:50:38 GMT 1, Not sure if anyone here is interested in this, but that Steven Colbert portrait that was "defaced" by Shepard Fairey and Andres Serrano (and blessed by Frank Stella) is up for auction for charity.

If you haven't seen the show where this was created, look it up on colbertnation.com - it's pretty funny.

Steven Colbert / Obey / Serrano / Stella portrait, by darren433 on Mar 9, 2011 0:23:38 GMT 1, Failes sold at or above high estimate.
Dzamas sold at double or almost double high estimate.
Barry McGee had two lots, one unsold and the other sold at well below the low estimate.

Steven Colbert / Obey / Serrano / Stella portrait, by Simococo on Mar 9, 2011 5:35:09 GMT 1, Phil Frost at $20k was a strong result Brainwash piece at $8750, basically half the low estimate was a surprise The Barry McGee piece that sold was really small and IMO a fair price and those drypoint prints have been touted about on more than one occasion at auction recently
I think the large Faile on wood was a geat buy for someone

Really nice pick up for someone on that large Faile. Both sold for good prices for the seller. As per the Frost which was not a great example IMO.
The McGee original was tiny at 7 7/8 x 6 3/4 in so $4375 was just about right. His small works measuring up to 14" x 11" sell at $5k primary.
Would loved to have picked the Nate Lowman canvas at that price.
