ADVICE π° Buying & Selling Art at Auction, by thor on Jan 8, 2021 21:01:12 GMT 1, I'm not reading it anywhere im talking from experience, I've just consigned a Banksy to Forum auctions 27th January sale and the work was shipped and delivered next day, shipped by DHL and all arranged and kindly paid for by forum, so if you can't travel into London you can ship a work into the auction houses no problem, bid online and the work will be shipped out to you upon completion of sale and payment, at the end of the day it's up to each individual to decide but all I'm saying is Auction houses are still running there online sales and delivery companies are still delivering,

ADVICE π° Buying & Selling Art at Auction, by samo on Jan 9, 2021 4:39:03 GMT 1, No worries folks I just consigned a Banksy Grin reaper to forum auctions 27th January auction via DHL with absolutely no problem and next day delivery , and I'm based in northern Ireland , so go ahead and ship your art with confidence because parcels etc are getting through no problem..so bid on your items without fear because the works can and will be shipped out to you upon purchase. I'm a little bit sceptic about shipping art with confidence to the UK for Mainland EU citizens, given the current Brexit situation. Judging by the stories you read on here and in the media. So there weren't any additional costs to pay, such as customs duty?

They arranged shipping, insurance, covered all costs, and I negotiated a no seller's fee on hammer so yes I'm bloody singing their praises because they deserve it.. Thankyou and best wishes..

ADVICE π° Buying & Selling Art at Auction, by mj on Jan 12, 2021 17:07:56 GMT 1, Advise need from members who have consigned Banksy prints to a auction house.
Did you sent the Coa with the art work when courier picked up, or you sent later.
Also if sent later was this after the sale or before?
One last question, I live in the EU so will I have to pay any UK tax on the sale and is 5%sellers fee a lot?
Many thanks

One last question, I live in the EU so will I have to pay any UK tax on the sale and is 5%sellers fee a lot? Many thanks I would always advise sending the art and the COA in different packages. Most auction houses would want it prior to sale. In this market I would not expect anyone to have to pay sellers fees....the buyers premiums are high enough. Theoretically you would pay VAT on sellers commission - but then again I dont think you should pay any!

I am finally pulling the trigger and selling my Silver Flags. Iβm not convinced that I will get best value selling privately considering offers that I have received recently.

ADVICE π° Buying & Selling Art at Auction, by Deleted on Jan 14, 2021 11:14:43 GMT 1, I was considering consigning an item last year to an auction house and played it a bit dumb to see what kind of percentage they offered. They kindly said they'd reduce their normal price of 20% down to 15%. Needless to say I decided against consigning with them!
