Judging from this thread and the fish one it's not just me.  I do enjoy some of the images but some clarity goes a long way.

yeah that was not a dig, just find it funny. Nothing wrong for just enjoying it for what it is, alot of things we see on this forum from artists are just pictures rather than photos of actual artwork. In this case most of this is private work so done for one person and not shared anywhere. Everyone who bought the blinky print will have a nice surprise as alot of work goes into this stuff, its not a 5 minute process

There is a thread on this forum about Thomas Ruff. I see no difference between Ruff and J-Boy. Ruff is considered highbrow and very very very good and clever and all that, yet Ruff just downloads photos off Nasa website and makes em a bit fuzzy in photo shop or other and prints them out with his name on them.

At least J-Boy adds goggle eyes. Plus the Marcel Marceau image. Isn't that what a lot of street ? artists do anyways. Make a screenprint direct from photos which have been made to look stencilly in photoshop?

Who knows what is really real and what is not these days in this urban art world.

I gave up trying to figure out J-Boy's motives and don't see any difference with his style or way of doing things and other artists or peeps in this urban schmoiban world. Fairey makes screenies from photoshops images and often from images he alledgedly just ripped off or plagiarised and put his name to.

Has Fairey ever hand cut a stencil to make his prints or produced an original on canvas before releasing a print?

Urban art seems to have left the streets and gone entirely digital with digitally made art, digital galleries and digital selling to digital shoppers who browse the images and go for the wittiest or cleverest to them one that will look good in their portfolio as a quick flip.

There is a book available on amazon called, Prop Art: over 1000 contemporary political posters.
